Wear a suit for a first date.
That's basically my advice.
Not saying you should do it every time....but once in a while, just get your suit out of the closet, rock social shoes, put on a nice tie, and go meet her.
It makes A LOT of difference, especially if you are over 40.

Caveats:
- it has to be tailor made (or at least very well adjusted), and have a slim cut;
- shoes must be nice, don't go cheap here;
- mid date, you can loose the tie/jacket, open the shirt to get a male cleavage, and roll up the sleves to give yourself a more "bad boy" vibe;
- bonus points if you like to wear nice watches (just dont go overboard here, please);

I don't know why exactly it works, but I had some easy first date lays when I decided to surprise her with a social attire.
Fun fact: this weekend I was at a wedding with the main and she got crazy when she saw me in a suit for the first time.
Gotta say our night was long and fun (still have her scratches all over my back and chest lol).
Also got some dirty looks from most of the ladies there (and most were not single lol).

It's worth the shot, believe me.

Sounds like a fun idea.

And use a slim tie, makes you not look like a boring old dude lol.

There is also context if you are older trying to portrait, the successful biz archiotype (mr. big from sex and the city), (don draper with mad man) etc...

If you are a young guy going for a young gen z girl would be totally off...(unless you work in biz district, young stock broker)

Or lawyer
avoid ties shirt a bit open the first bottom or first and second...
You can loose the tie on the first 5 minutes of the date and go for open shirt like I said in the OP.
Creates some kind of illusion, like "he is serious but also rebelious"

So here is what happened to me one time, about congruency....

I met a young girl at club with messed around, could not fuck due to logistics, i was dressed in the club street style attire....

Met her again out of work in biz attire, did not work the attraction was gone.....

My point is i was switching archeotypes.... She felt for the club, extroverted party, street wear archeotype...

On date she met biz type archeotype incongruency....

^ i saw the attraction dissapear from green to yellow to red...

Yeah, gotta be carefull with switching archetypes.
A slight change doesn't hurt, but a drastic one can loose you some points.
Totally valid.

Also time of the day.
IME, dressing social works best right after work, like between 5-7pm.
If you schedule lunchtime, or a morning walk in the park, could be a huge no no.

I think you gotta add a HUGEEEE CAVEAT here.

That this is advice for a guy who already has some degree of "Game" and is "cool".

Otherwise you put a lame boring guy in a suit, and all he will be is, a lame and boring in a suit. :LOL:

And you dressed homeless will still do 10 X better than the lame boring guy in a suit because you got Game. :D

Yes, I will sometimes loosen and then remove the tie during the evening. You gotta play it by ear.

Honestly, it's more about vibe and confidence than the attire.
That said, like I said in the OP, a suit can make a difference depending on the setting.

Think is the same when you check a cute girl in shirts and jeans, and the same girl in a social dress.
Huge difference!
Even 7s can look like 9s with the right night dress, make up and heels.

If I had to guess, I would say 50 shades played a huge part in changing the landscape for rocking a suit on dates.
But that's just a guess.

100 percent agree!

This is where I would push back slightly!

There is a nuance here. You just applied how much of our attraction comes from how the women's looks to women.

I would say "A man with a healthy amount of self-confidence, entitlement, good body language, frame control etc is a 7 in her eyes"

Now from there if that guy turns into "A man with amazing self confidence, feeling like he is entitled to the hottest of hot women, great body language and frame control" he just became a 9.

When you are talking of a guy putting on a suit, I know sub-consciously you are imagining that the guy DOES ACT DIFFERENTLY ONCE HE PUTS ON THE SUIT.

You envision him acting more confident and more like he deserves women and that he is the prize.

And that CHANGE IN HIS BEHAVIOUR IF IT OCCURS is what makes him more attractive.

If you put even the best suit on a guy who is insecure about things that are unrelated to clothing, like he thinks he is a bit too fat, or that he is too short or that his nose is too big, then he will NOT FEEL OR ACT MORE CONFIDENT despite putting on the suit.

The suit might catch the girls eye or attention for the first few seconds or minutes, but her attraction for him is going to dry out pretty soon once it is not backed by him being confident.

So I agree with what you are saying but in my experience that is stopping one level too soon and presuming that a suit will make a guy act more confident.

G-zus man, please stop projecting.
I never said or though anything you wrote above.

My point in the OP is to just try it, especially if you are an older dude (over 40) and see if it works for you.
I didn't even touched on the topics of fashion, style, game level, confidence or anything like that.
YOU are the one that brought it up and assumed a lot of things about my opinions that are not true.

Also in a post that sounded eerily like it came out of Claude, with the “push back slightly” touch which is characteristic…

Seems he's just digging into "the why". Separate from vibe, I think women can be pretty visual (like the grey sweatpants bulge meme). A garment literally tailored to flattermaxx a man's figure would be appealing..? So is a form fitting tee shirt on an athletic guy. This is "replication value"? Good genetics, proof your ancestors bagged choosy in-demand mates, or a hard to fake sign of work ethic from manual labor or the gym?

Weddings are fuzzy cause they're fantasy. The pretend princess gets to take her photos at some nice estate with her royal prince in an evolution of the military uniform (flip up your lapels and you look like you need a bayonet). The others are all fantasy guests of the court, like she's marrying into some fairytale future. The whole ritual is another can of worms for this sort of forum.

But it still sends all sorts of signals. So in any other environment, you cannot avoid first impression labels from what you're wearing. Peacocking fashion aside, menswear is to dress for the context. Only the rich could launder a white shirt back in the day. Wearing a suit means your social reality calls for it. Survival value is not necessarily provider value and is maybe like an "honest signal"? E.g. the effect of "conspicuous consumption". Or status.

If that happens? He isn't wearing it right.

I don't know why exactly it works
I do!

Thats all I was getting at. The freaking WHY of it that you casually dismissed.

And my point is it only "works" if the suit leads to the guy wearing it feeling MORE confident because he is wearing it than he would if he was not wearing it.

But if you don't want to dive one level deeper and question the WHY, then I will stop.

G-ZUS did not know you were so opposed to looking into the why. Sorry to spoil your "magic suit fantasy".

Just to add something else, I think it’s worth noting that a good suit will also look good in a place where many other guys are not making the effort to dress well/favour a casual style.

A city where I regularly game (where I’m heading to this weekend, actually) seems to see most women dressing well for a night out, but lots of regular guys looking scruffy and badly dressed. To me, too many of these blokes look like they’ve popped into the bar while on their way to the shops for a pint of milk.

Maybe the scruffy look works there for these guys. But if I instead go out in a good suit, at least I look distinctly different from that scruffy/casual crowd and feel I have a much better chance of attracting the women who prefer that smart look.

Obviously in a place where the majority of guys are also wearing suits, that advantage isn’t quite so exclusive.

lol! i did not think suit maxing was going to be some contreversial (but i actually did)...... You have most seducers that do streetwear and are in the younger bracket so they will not relate... (which is what is causing the talking past each other)

first time @D. Gately brought up this same idea somewhere years ago i was rolling my eyes.... But then i saw couple of guys in the club, and they pulled it off, where everybody else were dress street style, yes they were in the upper 30s and looked cool....

Again is about the sexual stereotyping.... (he is not telling everybody to do it), he is saying to try it for that specific archeotype (no that deep)... look at the context in my video funny thing that video of mine is 7 years old pre corona..... Today i had to transform my acheotype to gen z and get very lean... But anyways i mentioned the archeoty POB and D.gaily talking about again about fuck not the right video will look for the video later... Actually minute 2:11
