I recently tried reaching out to another old friend who was visiting my area and wanted to hang out with friends in the area (as communicated in an online post) but at some point or another her boyfriend was looking over her messages and misinterpreted our intentions (we've known each other since we where kids and she's been on the road a lot lately so I wanted to hear a story or two and catch up purely as friends). So I ended up getting up a defensive message or two from him (he's on the other side of the country, not really much of a threat), once I explained to him what was actually happening he didn't really have much to say. She apologized for his messages and explained he has access to her messages/profile and we eventually decided not to meet for the sake of their relationship (bummer but shit happens).
Anyway, I've noticed it's becoming increasingly more common for couples to actively share (or monitor in some cases) their private messages and such and I'd like to know what you guys think about this. I prefer to keep away from couples whenever I can but I'm able to (unfortunately, it a long story) say from experience this makes getting her from right under his nose a little more difficult from experience. Is this really a healthy norm to do (If you find yourself in a relationship like this)? And for the guys out there who share my experience with girls in relationships, how do you get around this or is this where you call it quits (as in not worth it at that point)?
