Active vs. PassiveBrah! I have no idea what your block of text tried to explain....leave the analogies to me...
Say two guys have lawn mowing businesses.
One guy's really good at advertising in the right spots at the right times in the right ways. Very optimized. He gets lots of people calling him and makes a lot of sales, including big fish clients with huge lawns.
The second guy goes door to door pitching homeowners who are not already looking for his services and are skeptical. This guy develops sales conversion skills, even if he gets less results with less appealing clients.
Now say both these guys want to scale back one day and get one or a few long term clients who fulfill a lot of extra criteria (wife quality analogy... not just any lawn). This is a much more rare client who is a lot more skeptical and does not call up a service based on marketing. The first guy has no means of securing this particular target client. The second guy does.
Obviously the ideal business owner would combine both of these strategies.
