2026-03-12 - Stopped in at Whole Foods and felt a little tinge spying the spot where I had gotten in the car with the girl last week. Went inside and to my surprise saw in the aisle a beautiful slim waisted Latina architect dancer painter with two master's degrees, about five years older than me. It had been about a year.

We hugged after I called her name and her face lit up in surprise. She teased me asking if I was shopping or doing something else. I said I like to pick up just a few things at a time and asked if that's what she thought of me... someone who meets girls in public on purpose. She laughed and brushed it off, then asked how work was going. We talked a little about work and AI, which I suspect is how she tests guys thinking they are smarter than her.
We caught up a bit and then I told her the last time I was here was while on a date, and then explained that I had met the girl in the day and we discovered both liking baby food, so I had her bring some to meet me and get more for a taste test... and then we went for a root beer float with two straws. She said you are on another level man [sincerely]. I had her follow me into the aisle and she bought one of the fruit ones. She also asked how my Spanish was and invited me to hers for a group language night she was shopping for. She's vegan and said she might need some meat for the guests. I suggested something that might have sounded expensive, and she said they're not that high caliber of people [ha!] so I said I'm glad I declined her invitation then, and she said that's why she had invited me! Haha. She asked if I still had her number earlier or if I'd done an annual cleanout [i.e. she probably deleted me haha]. She suggested coffee and I said let's go grocery shopping. She said for baby food? Not really agreeing. I said we can swap stories and that I don't believe she doesn't have them. She agreed.
Before that though she said she'd started seeing someone. I asked if it was serious and she said it depends how you define that, and that it had seemed we were on the same wavelength in that way. In the other aisle, I told her how I'd recently broken a girl's heart accidentally, then got into how it's a learning process to set the proper expectations. She asked if I was not wanting to keep dating her, and I said no I would have dated her a long time, and even if I were to have children one day, it would have to start as casual for something like six months, and that I'd probably still try to stretch it to two years. Her eyes kept widening with everything I told her, and we kept brushing against each other, locked inside a bubble. I was always leaning on something or we were moving a few feet every so often. I don't think we ever broke eye contact and talked for probably a good 15-20 minutes. At least a couple girls tip toed around us with their knowing smiles.
She asked in surprise if I would still consider something serious with someone who I'd gotten physical with fast. I looked at her like she had grown another head. Like are you nuts? That is the only way I would consider it, since passionate relationships start passionately (thanks Mystery). I said I've never committed to someone, so have heard a lot of stories from the other side of how relationships and dating go, and all my judgement on getting physical fast has long gone out the window. She agreed and mentioned like if you went on multiple dates without touching or kissing (e.g. us lol... she only implied). I remembered back after this interaction to when Tinder first came out and I had a date with this 19 year old girl from South America. We got fries or something at a restaurant and she remarked something after in a disappointing way like in her country you would have been making out in the restaurant by now. I remember she had given me an excited hug on the meet. I tried to invite myself back to her dorm room but she declined. I can't believe I forgot Latinas are way more sensual and physical contact is so normal and expected. I was waiting for isolation...
I told her I had plans tonight with a mother and we're just friends, plus I had met her at the place we ourselves had gone before I moved here. She asked if it was a date and I said well we might get tea downstairs, but we're just hanging out. So we reconfirmed plans to get together and I complimented the subtle snakeskin on her tights, over an elegant overcoat. I turned and pulled my belt up to show her the snakeskin patch on my pants. She said she thought I was going to show her my underwear and I told her I'd show her next time. She wished me a good shopping trip.
I'll probably send her an AI link to the interview I did with her so she can chat with herself. What a woman!
