Yes that's quite my image (some mess in the apt and a few instruments all over the place), but I'm in my 30s (I do look in my 20s tho) but wondering if I can keep it up. What I have done is to 'craft' an image of the artsy but grown-up guy (which is also congruent w/me ofc) I have gotten compliments on the looks (not particularly handsome BTW) so I think I'm on the right tracks, I do however have a 'childlike attitude' in general (maybe too much sometimes TBH).

I'm organically incapoble of keeping a neat house. As you get older more women accept that as a boyfriend disqualifyier. I have small music jams at my place on Saturday afternoon and occasional dance events, so I don't let my embarassment at my housekeeping isolate me, I'm not even much of a musician. Like I think with the right people I could be in a semi-professional band, I never have been.

I tell women on the dancefloor that I have an "emergency dancefloor" if they ever need it. That's worked pretty damn well in the SwingDance/FolkDance social scenes. But to do that, I have to be prepared for someone who just wants to WaltzDance. It happens.

It's true though it can cause some reactions like if girls tease about it. In a way it's funny and people are surprised I live like this. I think it adds an enigma (mysterious) factor if they know I have an office job. I'm definitely not like the guy who is just waiting for a girlfriend to move in. Part of boyfriend disqualification might also be simply moving to isolate her fast and escalating.

Even if you want something casual, it's good to encourage some of the natural instinct (with proper expectations), like food, cleaning, etc.

Like hesitating to escalate? Depending on your lay count yeah it just takes repetitions. I used to get nervous but once you get positive reference experiences you know it's likely to go well, which is what confidence is -

Yes exactly, hesitating when I know for sure the girl is into me and the escalation will work...

Besides the performance anxiety I have some fear (paranoia?) about the girl being crazy or overly-attached, or her having a boyfriend and knowing about this until too late (which happened to me a couple of times too) or a bad social circle idk. I'm also not good at breaking the relationship when necessary.

not an abstract quality, but literally a proof of concept applied to a specific act, like you are confident you are able to open a jar because you've done it before and internalized the likelihood of success.

Great definition, I will definitely take it into account, too much procrastinating going out bc of this issue. I just have to accumulate more experience and not think that much about it.

Anyways, I told her I like it and she showed up tonight with a real bouquet of ten roses in the emoji colors, like orange, yellow, and dark pink.

I remember after meeting her and encountering the random dude, this was my @topcat moment hah. Meeting girls in person is a lot of fun. She said "I'm glad you found me". It seems meeting by chance adds an element that feels like fate for her.
