Not a movie but I rewatched breaking bad. For me it was one of the rare times a show lived up to the hype.
I dropped it halfway through season 1 cuz I found it too slow. Might pick it up again.

Season 01 is just the set-up, they were still trying to figure out what to do with the show.
Season 02 is where the fun begins.
Damnn I'll give it a try then

Also highly recommend Succession. Brilliant series (and I don't usually watch series at all, except The Wire, Breaking Bad, and The OC and Gossip Girl when I was a teenager).

Note however that there are no masculine rolemodels in Succession. Without exception, all the guys are dweebs. Except maybe Greg, who manages to score with a hottie.

I enjoyed a parts of it, but whenever I watched it I often couldn't help thinking "gee this feels like it's for the entertainment of teenagers and not adults". Do you know what I mean?

Breaking Bad is utterly brilliant no matter your age. Ozymandias remains the most powerful episode of TV I have ever seen.

This was my thought process while watching BB the first time:
Season 1: Excellent TV
Season 2: One of the best modern shows
Season 3: The best modern show
Season 4: The best show of all time
Season 5: Better than Season 4

The Sopranos is the only show I would say is on BB's level, though shows like Mad Men, Better Call Saul, Fargo Season 1, True Detective Season 1, and Game of Thrones Seasons 1-4 are very close.

Haven't seen The Wire or Succession, but based on their acclaim I bet they are way up there too.

Despite Hollywood being in an abysmal state, we seem to be in/coming down from a golden age of television.

Has anyone watched Banshee or tell me lies?

I watched banshee till season 2 and I liked the main character in who is a con man faking being a cop.

I like his frame control in the show and how he always come up with a way to win in every situation even if it is not perfect.

His walk is great too. Powerful and manly. He fucks, girls like dolls, most of his pick-up rely on non-verbals. I liked him overall except the fact he is too impulsive for my taste.

I started watching tell me lies too.

Its a drama a sort of dark romance, set in college. Though I found the main character too manipluative and girls he seducer too broken kind. So I guess I will drop this one mid-way. Though drama is addictive as fuck.

Wolfs - George Clooney & Brad Pitt
I liked Wolfs quite a lot. I’m sad that it didn’t get a cinema release, the dynamic between Pitt and Clooney playing basically the same guy is fun.

Quite masculine and not preachy in any way.

This thread hits close to home, it's one of the reasons why I strongly prefer generating to consuming. But hopefully we'll see the tides turn in the Zeitgeist.

This is a documentary on the subject of captive orcas at SeaWorld and the attacks on humans caused by these whales in captivity.

The main dude is Tilikum, a male orca taken from the wild and trapped in captivity. In the wild, male orcas are leaders, respected and protected by their families. But in captivity, Tilikum was bullied and attacked by female orcas, so they had to isolate him.

One incident, for example, involved Kasatka, a female orca, who grabbed a trainer by the foot and dragged him underwater during a show. They said the attack was linked to her distress, because she was separated from her calf. The orca reportedly heard her baby’s distress calls from another tank during the performance, which triggered her aggressive behavior out of frustration and maternal anxiety.

You can watch the full documentary on youtube Blackfish.
