So I was out yesterday in a city for some business and fun with a few friends and met an old a acquaintance of mine from my hometown. We chat a bit regarding chicks and such, his brother arrives, "instant date" is mentioned and that's when I knew something was up with those two. Turns out they're gaming and I lose my shit. We discuss about it a bit and they go for a few sets. They return and encourage me to approach whichever chick but I'm pussying out.
So I roll with my acquaintance and his brother and leave my buddies for a bit, we're walking down this real busy street full of people, scanning for potential approachable girls. So we agree we're gonna do a 2 on 2 approach, the brother finds a couple chubby chicks which I wasn't really into, but the goal here was to just go for the approach and fun, regardless of results. But I couldn't really go into someone I didn't fancy at all, so that guy gestures me to come along and he storms off to get into that couple of girls, I'm like "no way" and walk along with my other guy. We agree we're gonna spot at least 5 decent couples of girls and approach at least one.
We go to the second couple we see from there oon, they're a couple of cute red-haired chicks sitting on a bench, looking our way. We stop and glance behind us towards the direction we came from, I tell my guy about them and that they're checking this way. We glance back and forth for a bit, they're occasionally looking. I think to the girls' eyes we either looked like we were looking for something behind us, or we were assessing the situation. Anyway, this lasted for about 20-30 seconds, then my guy gets in there and I tag along. He went there first/faster than me, I couldn't catch up with him in time and he opens up first as I'm a meter behind him. He says that they look real sweet, or they're the sweetest girls we've seen all night. The girls love it and they smile widely. Both are attractive, 1 of the 2 is real petite. So we introduce ourselves. They're sitting for a while as we're standing. Typical small talk, what we do what ya' do. My buddy mentions that I'm a salesman (and I'm thinking to myself "a what??"), girls ask what sort of salesman, I'm like "yeah... what sort?????" whilst looking to the direction of my buddy like I'm lost, lmao.
My real profession is something completely irrelevant to that, that's why I'm taken aback and kinda stunned/lost my words. On the side note we buy and re-sell products (nothing illegal fyi) like once a month and that's what he meant by mentioning that. But I'm trying to keep it low-key and not talk about it, he didn't know. Well there goes that. I come to the realization a while after that that's what he meant, so I try to give them a hint of what it is that I do on the side. Meh, that seemed lame.
So the petite girl tells her friend to stand up and stand beside us to check each other's height. I encourage her to get up also and not leave her friend alone, after her friend has complied. She's shy of her height (later when she got up I was 2 heads taller than her) so I'm like how about we sit down beside ya' then? She complies. So I sit next to the petite, my guy next to the other chick, we're on the edges, girls in the middle. We chat for maybe 10 minutes. Turns out petite has a house in a neighbouring town to my hometown. And is there every summer, she's been to my hometown also. So maybe that would've been good for the summers to come/future meet ups. Anyway my guy was far more experienced than me and smooth talks his girl, while I get stuck at one point for maybe a minute, a min of silence. Was weird. Petite engages the others for a moment while I'm stuck, at this point or before the silence (or after, don't recall) we find out about petite's friend's pet, we chat about that also, she shows us pics of it etc. They had some food left and couldn't eat because they were full, so we get up and start looking for a stray female dog we had encountered earlier before our approach.
Anyway we walk towards some direction, looking for the dogo, chatting with the girls occasionally petite asks me if I'm hungry myself, I lie about it and tell her I've had eaten. I should've teased her by saying "Why? You wanna feed me/invite me over to dinner?" (she was a cook/loved cooknig). Lost a good chance there. A while after petite switches sides with her friend and is on my guy's direction now. Definitely a bad sign lol. We ended it probably 5 minutes later. Petite mentions on her own that she's in a relationship when the interaction was dying out (we were at an intersection and had to go seperate ways) and isn't looking for anything rn. She sorta told that to my friend though rather than me, shrug. Her friend mentions she's recently broken up and isn't too ready for something new. I mention their thoughts are always on kinky things, they go apologetic. Got'em.
Anyway my pal exchanges numbers with petite's friend, I don't get anything from petite, didn't even ask for it, since she mentioned the above about half a minute earlier. My friend definitely had his girl hooked and petite was even encouraging her to get his number soon in our interaction. I wasn't as smooth but that's fine for a first.
So my thoughts on what went wrong in the above interaction?
*During the greeting I get stuck with the salesman thing and it definitely looked ugly.
*I also forgot to mention that also real early in the interaction my friend mentions how cool I am, girl is like "oh yeah?" and I'm like "yeah, can't you see?" or something. She goes "I don't know, you asking me?" so I reply "Trying to figure it out still" or something dumb like that, failed the shit test if that was even one, basically I self cancelled myself and fucked it up. That also looked ugly and awkward.
*Additionally during the interaction whilst we were standing and the girls sitting, I was glancing towards the direction of my buddy out of anxiety while chatting the girls/answering their questions. That DEFINITELY was bad.
*During that moment of silence during sitting with petite, I let the conversation die out and took an awkward while to revive it.
*I didn't get touchy with petite throughout the 20 minute interaction at all. Apart from a greeting shake (Which I think was a business shake, rather than a palm up shake) and a goodbye hug.
I also think the moment petite mentions she's in a relationship, I could've said "It's not like we're gonna get married, let's exchange numbers and whenever you're around my hometown we could go for a coffee or something, if you'd like."
