This was my 5th approach of the day. I had gotten 4 rejections before this and I was feeling like pickup would never work for me so my mood was pretty down, but I soldiered on.
I spotted this cute redhead.
I Approached her with the starbucks opener, then I said that she was cute. Then I put out my hand and introduced myself. She said her name was Luiza, We were standing in the middle of the sidewalk and people were walking by, we were kinda blocking them. So I grabbed her by the shoulders and said “let’s move over here” I leaned on this wall as I talked to her.
Me: “so what do you do? You look like you’re a student."
Her: “you guessed right” She smiled.
Me: “High five”. She told me she was Polish and a student that had just started university. I asked her about what kind of tv shows she liked. She said she didn't watch tv that much, that she was into reading. I called her a nerd and poked her shoulder (neg).
My arms were crossed (I had read that this was supposed to be terrible body language)
As we were talking suddenly I feel a tap on my shoulder, I turn around and it’s my dad’s old friends (this old couple) They ask me how my dad is etc and all I’m thinking is, can you get the fuck outta here!? I'm trying to game! Anyway they left. I turn to the girl and she was texting. Then I said “those were my dad’s old friends”
She went “that’s cool”
Me: “they had perfect timing”
Her: “haha yeah!”
She suddenly got a call and started talking on the phone (in Polish).
I started wondering where my wing was so I called him.
Me: Hey I was gonna get a quick coffee, come on, and I grabbed her elbow sorta and tried to get her to come along.
Her: “I can’t, I’m sorry I have to meet my friend”
Me: Don’t be sorry but I would really like to take you out on a date sometime if you’re single.
Her: “hmmmmmm”
Me: “Don’t lie! I know you’re single, I can tell by your mannerisms”
Her: “Okay I am, you know what, why not, okay.” She said with her eyes lit up.
Me: “Yeah you only live once right” (dumb thing to say but whatever)
She seemed sincere about wanting the date. I handed her my phone and she put her nr in.
Me: “I’ll call you, when are you free?”
Her: “I’m leaving for Poland so in a month”
Me: “In a month!?”
Her: “yeah it’s summer people are flying everywhere”
Me: “okay, I should go though”
Her: “me too”
I gave her a hug and then I left.
