Hey guys,
Hope everything has been well with your dating life
Just came back from a date that has a rather confusing ending.
I met this girl on campus. I stopped her and we chatted for about 20 mins. I followed Chase's advice, and tried not to jump the gun, so after a bit of banter, I deep dived her and focused on building a connection. Then we exchanged numbers. The text was the usual, and we met up today.
I arrived a little late, and she was already waiting inside. She got up to greet me, and we both ordered our coffee and sat down. I sat diagonally across her. The conversation was light and fun in the beginning, then I deep dived her more. She was talking about 70%-80% of the time. Sometimes, I just smiled and nod my head, and she would kept talking more about herself. We just connect a lot, and talked about our first kissing experience, our childhood, first time asking someone out...etc. I teased her she must have a lot of kissing practice by now. I touched her leg a few times during the conversation when she's laughing. Everything seems good. We also talked about a lot of other random stuff.
She told me she's usually a quiet introvert and she doesn't usually talk this much and it depends on who she's talking to.
After about an hour, I started to plan for the pull. I asked her what movie she liked, and casually invited her to come over to watch it. She said she can't because she has to go back home for dinner and she has a party later. I told her no worries and move on the conversation. After about another 10 mins or so, I decided to end the date.
Me: "well hey we should cook dinner next time"
Her: "yea sure! sounds good"
Me: "you can cook me your potato whatever that thing is"
Her: "haha na I'll think of something better. Something more elegant"
So we both got up and walked outside. It was cold outside, and I felt like grabbing her hand and tell her I had a good time.
Her: "So I'll get to see your studio next time..."
Her hand was clenched in a fist because it was so cold. I reached for her hand and tried to open her palm but....she didn't comply and pushed it away. This all happened while she's still talking. I was a little thrown off.
Her: "I'll cook something and we'll definitely watch Interstellar"
Me: "sure"
Then we said goodbye.
I was really confused in the end....
edit: she texted me, which I thought was going to be another "i don't ever wanna see you again" text hahaha but surprisingly...
Her: "Hey, thanks for the great time. I'm sorry about freaking out a little before, I'm really not good at all this and although it comes naturally to some people, for me it just takes a little while. Hope you have a great weekend and maybe we can hangout some time next week if you're keen."
