Hello, I'm new to the board. I've been reading the site for about a month now, great stuff.
Anyways, I'm not an absolute begginer in dating and girls, but I know I need a lot of experience. So for practice's sake I started using some of the stuff I've read with girls online; Some facebook friends I don't talk much too, especially so I don't get a "we're just friends" kind of response; to practice in a more controlled environment before eventually moving to real time/ physical interactions. lol
Case in point there's a girl who likes japanese cartoons (so do I) and she told me she often gets told she looks like a "big eyed cartoon" character.
To which I responded "We don't need them telling us, we know we're special like that" (An "us vs the world" kind of compliment).
And she wrote this back:
I haven't responded to this yet. I get some ideas of how to from what I've read, but I wanted a little pointers. Maybe even as if this weren't an online exchange.
In retrospect I think maybe I shouldn't have used the word 'special', since it can be easily reinterpreted and turned back on me. Maybe something like 'cool' could have been more effective. Ah, well, such is the way when experimenting. =P
Now, I think I could just say something like "Oh, you!" or "You're so flattering". Kind of taking it lightly, using the playfully sarcastic tone as indicated in Why do women test?, as I think she's teasing/testing me. Or maybe say something like "So you think I'm special? I didn't know you liked me like that".
Also a little more context: She normally uses pics from japanese cartoons instead of smilies for expression, but I've noticed she only does when she's engaged. So the fact she put a picture there lets me know she's more engaged than before (she didn't use one in the previous exchange), that's why I think it's more teasing/test than something else.
Anyways, I hope this isn't too complicated. Thanks for reading and I look forward to getting along with everyone.
