In the articles about charisma, it could be summarised that one should speak with certainty, walk with confidence and act with conviction. And even when one is not in control of the situation, they still remain poweful by being calm to the opponent.

I think a good video that describes this visually (along with lots of mystery and edge) is this:

It's actually a good point....

One of the cultural differences I found when moving to the USA was in my work environment.

In my home country, people are more generally taken on their merrit or hard work. People quickly spot people who are "all talk".
I noticed it here though, that people in higher positions were often not exactly knowledgeable in what they were saying or doing, but they were able to talk a good talk. Even if they were totally wrong, they would speak dominantly and confidently and people respect it. It's a good point, don't get bogged down in facts or logic, just speak and act with confidence and directness and people respect it more.

Haha Estate, you really made me laugh this time! :))

Of course people quickly spot people who are "all talk" in your home country... they have to be able to do that, because your home country's natives are globally renowned as being the world's greatest experts in blarney :) And the funny thing is that their descendants right here in the US of A are equally good at it, but of course no one is prepared for it in the way that they are in the Old Country, so they are accorded "charisma" and "respect" à la Bobby Kennedy ;-)

What's more, I can tell you that they command my admiration, not because I can't see through it, but because I am charmed by their brazenness and spirit and know I could never have the presence of mind to pull off the same trick myself! Gotta love 'em. I had a boss from your home country back in 2008-2010 and he was not only the best boss I've ever had, but one of my closest friends at the time too...
