My daughter started her sports team again so for the first time I was at the school, to pick her up. One of the other sports parents is a few years older than me. I know her parents and brother from business and I've seen her around as our kids played together. I recall her from my high school and she still loves wearing those short split side shorts that show off her long slender legs. She has always been conversational and platonic when we have seen each other at practices and games.
So I pull up to the first practice 10 minutes before the end, and before I can put it in park she is walking over from her car with some extra shimmy in her hips, no mask and a look in her eye like I'm her new best friend. She greets me with a long.....tight hug. First words out of her mouth " I never realized you were divorced." (It was final 3 years ago).
We talk about our relationships with our exes and our kids. We never asked about if either of us were dating.
We then spent the rest of the wait for our kids with her doing most of the talking, leaning up against my pickup. I really was amused at the change in her demeanor from last year, because it was the flirtiest I'd seen in quite awhile. I'm not interested in her since I've already got a girlfriend at home but I found it rather exciting that In this time of social distancing that she craved physical contact with me....
