@Chase, there is something which has kept me a bit occupied. In this article:

Female Quirks: Women Go Nuts When They Can’t Tell Your Status​

So we have this phrase :

" She thinks she knows who you are. She probably DOES know who you are. Women are excellent at very quickly figuring out who men are and putting them into boxes. Most of what men can do women have seen before. Most guys try the same stuff to get out of boxes, and women see right through it."

I have encountered more than once that a woman indeed thinks she knows what I am about, but gets recalibrated later on. Then again I have never been a conventional type of guy. But I figure most of us are not conventional. So is it not rather common that women judge us according to metrics they are used to with average joes instead of us who are hypertrained in the social/seductive arts?

This is a bit of a high intermediate / low advanced problem, where you are indeed significantly different from the average guy, and really should go in a different box than the one she's putting you in, but you still aren't perfectly communicating that. It will also happen to advanced guys who are rusty and not presenting themselves quite right.

e.g., the guy who does a lot of one-night stands and is good in bed but is fairly polished and comes across more respectable and boyfriend-y than he intends to, so a lot of girls write him off as "not that wild" and "seems like he could be looking for a relationship" when he's really not.

Or, as another example, the guy who's tired of ONS and wants a nice girlfriend, but he has a raw, aggressive, savage style, and girls see that and immediately throw him into the "ONS player" box, even though he is actually genuinely looking for a girlfriend right now.

When you're running into this issue, the takeaway from it is that your presentation is not accurately reflecting your reality -- so you need to tweak the way you're coming across if you want girls responding to you the proper way.

(the finesse is in not tweaking it so much you lose what's made you good, but rather just enough that you fix the "getting thrown into wrong boxes a lot" issue)

When you're running into this issue, the takeaway from it is that your presentation is not accurately reflecting your reality -- so you need to tweak the way you're coming across if you want girls responding to you the proper way.
