I haven't posted on the boards in a while, but have been practicing and dealing with massive reputation issues (ranging from no-good player, which I can use
to straight up manipulative jerk, to being gay haha) all being perpetrated by two of my exes. Anyhow, am just now getting over that (honestly by fighting fire with fire), and I just recently came out of my jerk phase which has helped. Am dating a girl at the moment, which will hinder my progress, but we are both realistic about next year and college (i.e. we are not going to the same school and thus our relationship won't last too far beyond high-school graduation). Sorry for all the background knowledge, just wanted to give you guys some idea about where I was at. This brings me to my main point-college. I have read Hector/Anatman's posts on college seduction styles and have tried them out this year, with help from my current gf (who wasn't at the time) and my best friend. I spent about a month going hard in each type, but honestly have had trouble picking one. Some notes-
BMOC- Always first huh? This one got me the most attention certainly. I did have to tone it down a bit and not be quite as direct, as I have been at a small high school (200 kids lol) but was very blunt in innuendo. This one got me loads of attention from both genders, guys would try to build rapport and girls would try to get my attention. It also did not help the rumors spreading about me, and after about two weeks my reputation tanked. This was also the one I tried first and thus these rumors have been here during the rest of the journey...as for sex appeal, well, the main thing as far as I can tell is preselection and the fun/edgy vibe that this type exudes. BMOC also exhausted me at some points, the high energy was not congruent to my former personality (I used to model myself after Edward Cullen lol, started that in seventh grade...and then other brooders). I also messaged Anatman about this and he said it might not be best if I did this at a small school, something about playing with fire? Man, he was right. However, it was quite fun too, and if I had not already had a bunch of rumors circulating it may have gone a lot better. The character I ended up most like from the list was Starlord from Guardians of the Galaxy I think.
Wildcard- I tried this one next, it seemed a safer, more toned down and interesting form of BMOC. I made my passion basically sensuality and wordplay, I worked a lot on my poetry in this one (deep amiright??) and it seemed to work ok. My outcome dependence went slightly down-outcome dependence is still a huge sticking point for me though. This type seemed to weird out people who didn't know me well, but people I talked to regularly became a lot more interested in me (by people I mean girls ofc). I feel I never really got the weird/quirky fashion sense down, although I love men's jewelry (and was actually taking a jewelry design course at the time). I tried for a more Johnny Depp vibe, and perhaps did not get the exuberance down.
This leaves us Slowburn, which I didn't start until a model united nations conference. I was at a low point where I wasn't sure really what to do with my game etc and my reputation hadn't gotten a lot better (I was unaware of the extent of my exes bitching until recently), and I realised that for this conference I'd need a much more smooth approach. So, despite my lack of emotional control, I decided, what the hell I haven't tried it, might as well...andddd it worked surprisingly well. The conference was a blast, and I had three or four girls chasing me around the entire weekend (at this point I had begun to date my current girlfriend, this was about a month ago, so I didn't go very far with them, although my current gf likes slowburn the best). Slowburn inspires qualification more than the others, and the body language is superb. My girlfriend said, and I quote "It's like every movement is really about sex" without being direct. However, the outcome independence combined with the more laidback attitude can make initially hooking the girls harder (or maybe I just need to work on approaching more, I almost exclusively rely on social circle). I may have taken this too far though, and I started to get comments like "oh he's too cool for us" etc. Some were flirting, some weren't. I also don't always have the emotional tranquility for this style. Prince Oberyn from Game of Thrones ended up as my role model for this vibe (mostly cause, favourite show).
I am going to a smaller college (3500) in a town with another college roughly that size (so totaling a small town with 6000-7000 college kids). This will no doubt affect things, and I do hope to keep an open relationship with the girl I'm currently with, however she does not care if I hook up with girls (or so she says, we will see). I realize I don't have a great deal of credibility on the boards, I don't post lay reports or fuck ups etc, mostly cause I forget interactions after the initial reflection, and am in a temporary state of monogamy after my sleeping around having trashed my rep. But I would really appreciate some advice; I have lots of questions-
-Which style/variation should I focus on?
-What do I need to do to make a good first impression?
-How do I become 'king of the school' (haha I know, aiming a bit high here) without fraternities?
-How do I counter bitching behind my back? Or should I just ignore it seeing as I'm leaving in two months anyway...?
-Other important things to know about college?
