Not really.

The news exaggerate things. Yes there are Americans who do not like muslims but most of them are okay. If you want to practice your religion outside your house/apartment, that's something i don't encourage unless you are in Asia.

Even in Asia, there's some racist and religion problem here and there. That shunning.

btw, a muslim never follows Girlschase unless they are a non-practiced. Most muslims either lie or outright do not follow.

It is funny to call oneself a muslim although technically in your passport, you are one. I guess everyone lives two lifes and this is very real.

North America's pretty much accepting overall. Which city or state though? Canada's also too smart and open minded overall for it to matter. No ISIS comments were had when the Catholic family heard of my Muslim girlfriend. Same lack of any issues with the Sikh one. They may have been in shock generally though

The only issue ever encountered here was a drunk guy on public transit (who funnily enough was a minority himself often the butt of light prejudice) pointing at a Sikh guy's turban jokingly voicing his concern only to me that he might have a bomb. Pretty sure there are no Sikh terrorists whatsoever lol.

Definitely wouldn't worry about ISIS events impacting anything like job searching. Most people of sound mind understand how radicalism differs from regular religion, maybe because we've seen a lot of people who believe that humans have only been around for 10,000 years and coexisted with dinosaurs.

Since Muslims are associated with terrorism and viewed generally as negative ( No offence to anyone, that's just how it is AT THE MOMENT ), do you think it might be potentially dangerous for a Muslim to travel to America?
I'm thinking of moving to America for some time, where I've never been, and I've got friends telling me things like : " Dude, are you insane??
My really good buddy who travels a lot told me seriously : " Man, a Muslim guy travelling alone to the USA in this particular era where Muslims are not the most admired is one of the dumbest thing to do. Move somewhere else, somewhere in Europe or Asia but write off America from your list. At least for now. It's really risky. "

Risky, why?? I've never been to America but I really want to. What are your thoughts on this?
