Hi all, I'm new here, been reading Chase's columns for a little while and have to say I wish I'd found this site sooner.

So I met a girl at a bar two weeks ago on a Thursday night (uni night, cheap beer), found out we had a lot in common in the brief 20 minutes or so we chatted, left the convo at a high with her number and she says something like "we'll see each other soon right?"

Apologies for all the blanks/inserts in the below exchange

About a week later (left it too long?) I text her saying:
"Hey HB8, it's (me) here, we met at ___ last Thursday. What did you think of (band that played at the pub)? (Insert mildly amusing anecdote about our convo here) ha ha so what are your plans for the long weekend?

She responds within a few hours with:
Hey :) haha (re: anecdote) I thought they were awesome! I'm not doing much on the weekend, just (blah blah blah), what're you up to?

I respond a day later with:
I'm doing (blah) with some mates, we're going off road driving in (blah), got pissed last night and (insert another mildly amusing anecdote here) haha. Are you getting into as much trouble as me? So you told me you were a fellow stephen king fan, I'm currently reading "It", what's your favourite book of his?

Since then it's been 4 days, no response. I shouldn't have bombarded her with info on the second text, as it was double the length of her reply to me. I was in half a mind to just go with brief reply/set up a date on text #2... should've just cut the BS. Would've definitely tried to arrange a date on the third text.

I'm real annoyed now because I know we really connected, and I haven't genuinely been interested in many girls since I broke up from a LTR 6 months ago. Any feedback on where I went wrong, or advice on how I can salvage it from here would be much appreciated.

the right date makes getting her back home a piece of cake

Hey John,

Just going to talk about a few things since I'm on my phone.

Your text seemed almost perfect, minus some length. She responded well and pretty quickly. That's a good sign. This is where you should've set up a date and cut the rapport. Way too many things to respond to in your second text and much too long. It definitely should've been setting a meeting since she said she wasn't doing much.

Your first text was decent but now you need to set the date. I'd text her again with a short consideration line and then set the date. Ex: hey Name! Hope all is well with you. What's your schedule look like this week?...
Something like that.

Jake.
