Anyone have the masf and nextasf archives?

The masf archive used to be available for download, it was quite hard to use (required setting up a local newsserver using some old software, but it was doable). That website is now down and unavailable. I know the PDF archives for individual posters are available but they don't include some posters like thecostofsuccess (btw, anyone know what happened to him? I know he was on here as Cody Lyans, then just vanished). Also, the nextasf website no longer works, it just returns a system error. If anyone has these archives and can upload them I'd be willing to pay $70 for each, in bitcoin

You may have to play around with different captures to find posts. The capture of a particular day can return errors but still show other posts. It's not perfect but it's something.

I have no idea. We never kept an archive. We paid our host to do backups several times per day which would be used to restore the DB if it were to be destroyed by some bad event. But that was kept by them, and there was never an archive as such.

Do you think it would be possible to get one of the backups of Nextasf and upload it somewhere, at some point? It would be a shame if the entire forum was lost

I understand it's work for you to do this, but any chance you can quote a price for getting the entire nextasf forum in download archiveable form? Can be paid in bitcoin or most other cryptos

It's real large and it's not mine, so I won't take money for it. I just looked, Part 1 is 222 Mbytes and Part 2 is 211 Mbytes. If you have a drop box large enough to take those, and send me your address, I'll arrange giving them to you. You could spend the money you are offering on a suitable drop box.

I know that the full masf archive exists somewhere as up until recently it was uploaded on its own standalone website. You had to use old newsreader software to view it but it worked, and this was uploaded by the nextasf admins I believe. So someone out there has it. Nextasf exists on the wayback machine but is hard to navigate if you don't have a direct link to the post you want, it also doesn't include field reports, journals, or hall of fame, where the best posts were. If anyone reads this has access to either please leave a comment so we can discuss buying the archives

anyone have an archive and a way to stand up a local server to host these old forums ?

would be a cool project, I'd be down to try to dig into setting up a public facing site for it if I had the full archives in a usable format of sorts

also anyone have RSDnation archive to do the same thing ?

I'd love to see an archive of the old mASF forum! Definitely posted a few FRs and LRs in there back when I was a 19 year old idiot, but was going balls to the wall
