Appearing as Not on the Hunt, when You Are?

I went to the mall today and I found myself struggling, multiple times, to pretend sifting through clothes that I liked, while looking around for any women to approach. I started to get really self-conscious when no one was probably paying attention to me. At college it's a lot easier to set yourself up somewhere and watch women pass by through your periphs, but when you're walking through the mall or in some retail store there is so much visual stimulation that you get lost in the large numbers of people passing by. Is she old enough? Does she have a bit of makeup or is it all just caked up on there? This ones with her man. She's with her dad, mom, the whole family. Maybe I am overanalyzing as usual, but I feel bad for the guys who aren't in college... feels like a lot of work haha. For those of you who do go to the mall, how do you make picking up women work, while maintaining this cool, calm, effortless vibe going? Do you go for the people working at the stores? Do you post up/set up camp on some bench or in the food court? Do you dare to walk into one of the women's clothing stores and just browse around? I'll be heading back again tomorrow to go at it again, hopefully with a new trick or two to make the whole thing more efficient.
