Hey guys,
Some background to this. I am Irish but I live in the US. Quite often I get guys and girls making comments on my accent "Girls must love the accent...", etc...
While it's true that I can "play it up" for all it's worth and it will be useful to draw attention from some girls... it's not quite what I like.
I've learned to play down my accent and "Irishness" a lot and also filter girls a little. If they seem TOO interested in it then I know where it's going...
Often girls will love the idea of sleeping with the foreign guy or seeing me short term but I too often find that girl will just not date the "foreign" guy seriously... it's just not what they see themselves doing.
How do I overcome this?
If I am just looking to get laid then of course it can be a tool in my arsenal but I find it works against me if I am seeing a girl with long-term potential.
I've even spoken to female friends about it and they agreed that they'd find it difficult to see a foreign guy longterm due to questions over my intentions... will I leave and go home, am I just looking for a green cards, etc.... (none of which are the case).
