Simply and shortly.
I went on a date with this girl. We had a good vibe via text. She even called me just after midnight cuz something had come up that would make us meet later than planned so we adjusted the time.
Only for us to get there and while deep diving, she lets me know that she's 17. #alert#! But I made sure I looked unfazed. Even went on to move her to the bar. (We were in a restaurant).
Next thing you know, it's only twenty minutes into the date and she recalls that she had to make dinner for her 6 year old bro - stating that it has to be 7pm. (This was 6.40pm). First thing I realised is that she brought this up at a high point in the convo so I pushed it off easily. However it crept up later and made her feisty and in the end she walked out. I followed just so she was safe since I hadn't even gotten really physical with her and also, didn't want her getting lost as her last bus had supposedly left earlier.
We found the bus and in all this she was mute and obviously upset so not talking etc. I just waited till her bus came..made her text her mum with my phone to say she was safe and coming home late...Egad!
The chick didn't even want to give a goodbye hug.
Anyways, she just got home..her mum texted back, I replied her(the girl). She says she's seen her mom.
No response from me. I took a few minutes to rid myself of any bitterness I took full responsibility of the mess of a date so that I could at least be at peace with myself and the situation.

This might not have much info but where did I mess this up really. I did make her tell me what day worked for her best and even had an initial time agreed before she changed cuz she needed to grab something out of town and be back to see me.
I don't know how I could have turned this around. Maybe next date will be directly at my place. That way I can deep dive and escalate without hesitation and burn bridges before they get built.
