i've resigned myself to the single life, and i'm pretty happy with that. the 'problem' i'm having now though, is that, as a rule, i never introduce girls to my other friends. two reasons for this. 1) it's kind of unfair if i'm introducing different girls to my friends all the time. 2) more importantly, the moment i introduce a girl to my friends is the moment she starts to think we are a couple.

so i'm at the stage now where i'm almost always alone at a party, almost all the others there are couples. most of the time i don't give a shit, to be honest. i might go for a beer with some friends but i'm happier using my free time to hunt and gather, so to speak. but at holiday times it does get a little bit ... i don't wanna say lonely, but maybe that's what my friends think. i almost feel like sooner or later i'll stop getting invites to christmas/new year parties because i'm not "one of them"

any thoughts?

p.s.
dunno if this belongs in general/advanced/lifestyle or what

lao che,

so i'm at the stage now where i'm almost always alone at a party, almost all the others there are couples. most of the time i don't give a shit, to be honest. i might go for a beer with some friends but i'm happier using my free time to hunt and gather, so to speak. but at holiday times it does get a little bit ... i don't wanna say lonely, but maybe that's what my friends think. i almost feel like sooner or later i'll stop getting invites to christmas/new year parties because i'm not "one of them"

Eh, I don't think this really matters. As long as you aren't being a complete downer at a party and are still chatting with everyone and having a good time, no one is even going to care. People might comment on the fact that you don't have a "girl" yet, but as long as you laugh and play it off (i.e. "what can I say; I'll be life-long bachelor!" or "eh, I'm just too busy with things going on right now that I don't have time for a girlfriend at the moment", or however you want to play it off), then no one is really going to care if you seem in a good mood and in good spirits.

Christmas is kind of a "family-oriented" time of the year anyway. I rarely spend my Christmas with friends or at parties because you're likely to find just what you did: families/couples, etc. But then New Year's comes and... well, you're glad you're single again! ;)
