Was watching Netflix's Black Mirror series (pretty dark stuff, but so captivating), and came across an episode involving futuristic pick up coaching.
The coach, played by Jon Hamm of Mad Men speaks to his clients through a microphone ear piece, while connected digitally to the client's built-in eye camera, and basically walks the client through a social situation to get him laid.
However, things always find there way of getting dark in this series.
I don't want to give away any spoilers, but please watch this episode (season 2, episode 4) of this remarkable series - or at least the first 20 minutes.
I wanted to hear your guys' thoughts on the dynamic of futuristic pick up itself (where might this be 20 years from now?) and how there's actually some solid involvement of pick up concepts in the episode.
Also, the possibility that advice from coaching (while entirely sound when backed by experience and fair reasoning) can unfortunately lead to unexpected situations that may appear like another situation. An example off the top of my head ( don't want to give away anymore about the episode ) would be a girl who the client believes is "playing hard to get" when in reality further pursuit could lead to legal or physical altercations. A situation where the coach may believe the client's describing X for whatever reason, when in reality the situation was "you should gtfo".
Lemme know whatchyall think!
