Hey guys, thanks for checking :).

What do you think about this winter style overall?
What about the coat and the hat?

Thanks!!

Luc,

I dig the scarf and the cap as well as the jeans and the shoes. I like the coat... but there's just something "off" to me about it. If it were my first guess, I'd say that the fact that it's purely grey from top to bottom that makes it look awkward. If it maybe had a few features like dark black buttons or small details that kept it from looking bland, I think it would be fine.

As of right now, it kind of looks like a "dress"... but maybe that's just me? =P

Everything else looks slick though.

Hey man,

It's getting cold here in New England too... I'm rocking the overcoats the last few weeks too...

I think you have the makings of something good here... but we need to tweak a few things. It looks like your clothes are relatively stylish but you looked more bundled up from the elements than raw sexy. Look at this image (sorry I couldn't find one with the same colors as yours)

- Can you open up the collar a little?
- If it's not that cold use the scarf as an accessory and drape it around the neck, not so tight. If it's VERY cold, drape it around you INSIDE the collar... stylish and WARM!!
- If you can afford to... loose the hat. Some guys can get away with it but I look terrible in a beanie, so do most guys.
- If you can open up the collar then the BEST thing bout winter is layering up! You can wear an undershirt, a shirt, a well fitted sweater over that, heck, even a waist coat or sports coat over that, and finally the overcoat. The best thing about this is it's super warm and if you have a little contrasy, layers really set off an outfit... here's you're a little wrapper up to make anything stand out.
- The black scarf is fine, but you could try a light grey one also or even navy or a flannel type red... really sets it off, catches the eye.
- I'm not personally a huge fan of leather, I think heavy wool gloves would be good but the black leather here is pretty ok.
- Lastly... if you're going with dark jeans, switch the brown shoes... black dress shoes is always a no-no.
- If you REALLY want to set it off... get some very light brown or tan dress shoes. Adds more contrast which again makes an outfit pop a little more.

I think overall, the fit and style of the coat is good... just show more layers and contrast and you're gold.

You're right Franco, looks a bit too plain, as it if cut out of an old sack or huge un-shaped piece of cloth.
Only problem was it was really freezing and something quick was really needed :).

Yes, bit "dressy", thought that being myself small and with that "Michael J Fox" boyish look dressy gives a bit more of a tone compared to more sporty and more juvenile styles.

I hear you, winter isn't sparing continental Europe either :).

Love the pic!
Collar opened up and scarf on the inside (really need for cold more than for accessory), seems better?

I agree with Franco, the jacket is nice and all, but you need some subtle accents or adjustments so it can be more than a wall of grey. Opening up the coat is on way. Once its open you can let the work of the layers do the job and if it is really that cold where you are, make sure the under layers are warm. You could go with a similar look to the one below with the brown coat. A black sport coat with some contrasted pattern or color popping out might do nicely. Draping the scarf over your shoulders and hanging over you helps too.

Check out this guy, Adam G, he dominates the "top looks" on lookbook.nu and for good reason.

Also I think there is a lot of contrast between 3 big solid colors in your outfit and it breaks up the look in a not-so-good way. I'd like to see your coat in black jeans and rugged grey boots or the boots in estates pic along with my recommendations above... and bring back the black scarf and the beanie but a solid black beanie. The other beanie is actually really cool but it seems more suited for a different look, specifically a summer one. Imagine that beanie with this summer look

I do want to add that I think your updated outfit does look better than the before one AND it does look pretty sharp.

My suggestions are just my opinion in bringing this from sharp to sexy-and-sharp.
