Technical issue vs Fundamental Issue,

"Direct men" in this context, your context i assume, it means that she knows that you like her, and she likes you. Direct Opener is a technique, and you introducing a variable which i don't think Chase implicates directly that direct opener = direct men. Flirting is a technique.

Two COMPLETELY different things but i notice this happens a lot everywhere.

It's only a contradiction to somebody who doesn't regularly talk to people. What you don't seem to understand is "implication."

Opening a girl directly doesn't mean me saying "Hey, I have an hour of free time. Let's go to my place and fuck." Opening directly is me saying "Hey, I saw you walking and thought you were incredibly cute. <Insert Genuine Compliment Here>" The former is creepy, the latter implies what my interest is.

Regarding keeping her guessing about whether I like her or not; I approached her because I thought she was cute but so what? Am I going to take her to bed just because of that? What if she's a murderer, a stalker, what is she has schizophrenia? Even after I approach she's still under the gun to show me what she's made of and while she's under the gun she's going to wonder if I'm into her or not.

Think about it this way, a job that says they're impressed with your qualifications still interviews you.
