Hey guys.

Recently I've been trying to find a way to promote for one of the clubs in my city. I'm talking to someone that does it currently and it sounds interesting. I was wondering if anyone on the boards had experience with this kind of thing and the potential it has in terms of people you meet, can you actually get paid for it, is it worth it, things like that. Also if it can transition into working for the club itself.

Would love to hear your opinions!

Jake.

You usually get paid a fixed amount per person you bring in to the club, as long as its the right kind of people. I once brought a male bachelor party in to my club; they were not happy (a large group of drunk guys is not necessarily the best group to be bringing in, unless they've got a VIP table or something). I'd say transitioning from promoting to bartending is possible, no one at my work has managed it, but if you were charming enough and talked to everyone, I could see people liking you enough to do it.

Good luck man

Byron,

Cool man. The girl I talked to said you don't get paid but get free entry into events. I'd still be down since the networking portion is what I'm after. I'm wondering how you get people to come to the places though, because she also mentioned having to have at least 5 people on a guest list a night. I have trouble getting most of my friends out of their houses so is there a certain way people go about this?

I appreciate your insight!

Been trying to do the same myself with bartending but it seems like you will definitely start on the lower end, I have a thread up on the lifestyle section about it.
