So last weekend I went out and got a girls number, contacted her later the next day briefly and then yesterday set up a date for Saturday. Now that there are a few days in between now and the meetup, what kind of contact should I have with her? I dont think its good to text "looking forward to Saturday" a day or two before the meetup. Anyone have a suggestion or good experience keeping in touch the days leading up to and how to confirm the date? Thanks.

It's always a good idea to shoot her a text the day of the meet-up to remind her of the date and/or communicate that you've remembered that you have a date scheduled soon.

Other than that, you can pretty much keep some silence throughout the days, or perhaps establish some short rapport if you feel like it. I typically don't text women unless it's to confirm a meet-up; if they're so eager to talk to me, then they can stop by my apartment ;).

It is probably too late now, since the day has passed, but for future reference a few things:

1) If you haven't gone on a date with the girl yet, only use texting for logistics. The only reason you should be texting a girl is to get her to come out and build rapport there.
2) Try to text her the same day you want to ask her out, if she can't that day she will suggest another day if she is interested.
3) I would confirm the same day or the day before, depends on how good she is at texting back.
