Calls & Texts Contacting a girl who may have animosity.

How does one go about contacting a girl who may have animosity towards me? In this particular situation, I was shortly seeing this chick who was in a rocky relationship and upon her mending things up with that, we have lost contact. I contacted her after about a month after having no contact and got one of those lame texts from her boyfriend like "she's my girl rawr", but he is a non-issue and I would just like to re-establish contact, as she is a cool girl and I, having an abundance mentality, really just want to see where her head is at because I dont really care how it turns out. I have plenty of other options, but you always wonder.
