A couple times this past week, I've used intrigue to keep girls guessing. Two separate incidents, nearly identical reactions from them.
One of them was the topic of age, she stated her age then asked mine. "guess," I said. When I told her she guessed wrong, she asked again, and I told her "I might tell you later." random numbers between 20 and 40 seemed to spill from her mouth. It was rather amusing.
she pressed the issue. I tried to recall a previous topic, and she exclaimed,"you can't change the subject yet!"
Different topic, different girl says,"we're not finished talking about....."

How are you guys keeping the conversation moving in this case?

Learning,

It seems like you're being too obvious that you're trying to create intrigue. I'd suggest trying out a more deflective method like this one:

When using a more direct method such as yours, you're making it clear that she has to put more effort in learning about you. For this reason, it's important that you eventually reward her by telling her the answer to her question.

I stay away from the age guessing games, it never turns out well.
