I struggle with day game. My night game has been getting good - when I'm warmed up and talking to everyone, I'm good at approaching a girl that looks inviting. But during the day when I'm doing work or reading, I tend to freeze up. Today I was sitting the coffee shop at school (I sit in there to read) reading my book when this girl comes and sits down right next to me. She's gorgeous and very tall, probably 6'0'' and just my type. I'm 6'4'' so that's more of an easy in because she's probably looking for taller guys than herself.
Anyways, I froze up. I wasn't expecting this girl to just sit right next to me so then I got kind of nervous and kept reading. She left after a few minutes.
How would you go about it? Just say hi, start a conversation and then say we should meet up sometime?
I go there a few times a week so I figure my best chance is to hope she comes around there again sometime. I'm usually good about this stuff and just starting conversation, but this girl just seemed like exactly what I'm looking for and it froze me up! It's backwards, I know.
Help would be appreciated.

Jimmy-

Sure, just standard approach anxiety. You can warm up by chatting people up during the day as well:

Barring that, you'll just have to push yourself to do those first few daytime approaches. A simple "hi" will suffice - then you're off to the races.

Once you (emotionally) realize cute girls won't snap your head off for greeting them during daytime, it gets easier to approach them and there's less of a fear element and more of an excitement one.

Thanks, Chase. You're right - it's a matter of setting expectations. I just need to talk to more girls I find attractive get more experience under my belt of good responses.
