Didn't get the number but she told me where she works - advice

I met this girl on a bus the other day. She didn't give me her number but did tell me the bar she works at and said to come find her there.

Why would a girl not give me her number but tell me where she works? Isn't the number less invasive.

Her number is more personal and it's less likely she will change it. Her job is less permanent. She could get let go/quit or the bar she works for could go under. If she wanted to sever ties with you, it's convenient to let it die if she leaves the company. Also, she's got co-workers and bosses that could protect her from unwanted attention if it goes that far.

meow...so....this is what shes REALLY saying:

"im not interested in you but you're a really nice guy!!! I want you to come to my workplace to give me lots of tips for drinks. Oh yeah, also, I love when guys are talking to me in front of my co workers and bosses, it makes me look popular. Plus I didn't even have to put in any effort for the attention."

I would move on to the next one. Even if you do go to her workplace to try to make some magic happen, you're chasing her already.

It depends on how far in your journey you are I think. I agree with the points mentioned above. She obviously didn't find you sexy enough to give you her number based on your first interaction. Still, I would still go and flirt with her if it wasn't terribly inconvenient for me. At worst you waste an hour of your life, take a slight ego hit at best you'll get her to agree to a date.

My opinion, go to her if you think it'll help you learn something.
