So here's the situation. It's a really long story, so I'm sorry to bother you.
I'm 17 years old and attend a regular high school. I am kinda-sorta good looking I guess, Don't talk much but when I have to, I do it funny,
have good grades (could easily be the class best if I wasn't so lazy), play an instrument, can draw pretty well, am athletic, yada yada yada.
Then there's that girl. The most intelligent girl in my class, and beautiful also. She loves picking on others and making fun of them, but to an okay extent.
The others tolerate it, but I'm the first one to pull a reaction to that.
After she insulted me (One time she acted like I was mentally retarded and she also called me an idiot several times),
I started acting cold towards her, ignored her and avoided any (eye-)contact with her.
After a few times, she started to wonder why I was acting that way,
and apparently was so bothered by it that she even asked my sister, who was in the same school as me back then. She stopped asking anyway.
I hate her arrogance, and I proved her that I could beat her in any subject any day, but that I rather just sit back.
I also see from my peripheral vision that she glances at me quite often.
This has been going on for a few months, and then, another girl from my class unexpectedly approached me on a manga-drawing she had made, and asked
me if I could make any corrections. She, too, is quite beautiful, perhaps more beautiful than the smart one, but less...smart, and more shy and insecure. We had some nice conversation and she told me she would like to get into manga-reading. We agreed to go to a shop together to choose one to start with. While all that happened, that other girl was watching.
On the arranged day, we were waiting at the train-station, and when the smart girl saw us she immediately came close to us and greeted the other girl,
which she never does. She doesn't even usually go home with that train. I could sense that she is jealous.
After buying the manga (which I bought for her since she had forgotten her money), she asked me if I wanted to do something else, and I said yes. It actually turned out to be a really nice date, and she told me that "we should do this again sometimes", and gave me her number. We hugged an went our ways (I have my reasons for playing it slow).
The next day, It felt like all eyes were directed on me. Even the smart girl was staring at me more often than she usually did. The other girl
wore a beatiful dress which I had never seen on her before. I couldn't compliment on her dress because she was with her friends, and so I just texted her after school, which she found really nice of me. Another day, I pulled my table closer to me, and the smart girl, who had to go through, thought
that I did it for her, an thanked me with the nicest smile and in a very unusual sweet tone.
This is where I am right now.
To be honest, I don't really want to go further with the other, sub-par girl, because she is insecure and shy (none of them are traits I necessarily like in a partner, but she seems more caring and passionate, too) and I don't want to break her heart and hurt her when she didn't actually do anything wrong. On the other hand, there is the mean, arrogant girl whom I don't want to start anything with unless she changes her attitude (which she slowly starts to do, apparently).
This is my problem. And I feel like if I don't do anything fast, it'll blow up in my face like a nuke.
I'm sorry for the long post, but one has to know the details in order to see the whole picture. So, please, help me!
