So I was on holiday in another city. I go to this social event I found on the internet. The organiser (a guy) is the first person I meet. He seems pretty cool (had I known better!).

I start speaking to some people around the place. I spot this very attractive woman. Quite older than me but perfect body. What I do is I start talking to a guy who's sitting close to her and after a while I turn my attention to her. She's very receptive. Doesn't speak english (nor any other language I know) very well but we manage to have a conversation anyway.

10 minutes into the conversation this other guy (her age) shows up. They're both in the 40s, I am non even 30 years old. This guy looks pretty funny, a Mr Bean kinda guy, but he's actually very good at approaching women. The thing becomes kinda entertaining, as she's basically having fun with both of us while me and the other guy act like proper buddies, none of us showing jealousy, which probably intrigues her even more.

At one point he mentions he's an investment banker, which gives him the advantage. What I do is I pull back a bit, talk to some other people around, including girls, and then come back to the spot. When I come back there she tries to use me to make him jealous and I start teasing her about how she should go for him, he's got a lot of money and she shouldn't miss that chance. At one point, when the two of them are speaking I take my credit cart out and make signals to her like "come one, that's your opportunity, take it". She starts punching me in an entertained way.

It was really hard teasing.

At one point, to my great disappointment, this guy gets nervous and loses his cool. I really thought he was an experienced fella and I could learn from hi by observing but he just gets pissed because the girl is not responding the way he wants. I take the opportunity and start talking to her again. 2 minutes later we're making out. 5 minutes later I tell her to grab her coat because I wanted to see her place.

I say it as if it was a command (something I never do usually, I just came naturally). She doesn't object. She takes her coat and purse, we get out of the bar. I push her against the wall outside and make out a bit more, also touch her ass and legs a bit.

All of a sudden OUT OF NO WHERE the organiser (the guy at the beginning I thought was cool) shows up, starts telling her: "Hey are you ok? Are you sure is it safe for me to leave you with this guy?". I am so stunned I start laughing. "No come on, are you sure this guy isn't taking advantage of you?" he continues. I tell him "hey man you don't have to do the whole white knight thing, she wanted to grab another drink with me, leave her alone" to which he answers "No, I am just protecting people who come to my events" Then turns back to her and brainwashes her so much that she decides to go back in. I just go away speechless.

Now, I thought about it. What should have I done? Maybe just taken her by the hand and brought her away from this guy. Maybe push this guy away.

I don't know. I just know I was caught entirely by surprise. How would you guys have acted in a situation like this?

Why were you escalating outside? She'd already agreed to show you her place so unless it was far away, wouldn't waiting until you got there reduce the risk of interrupts?

I think I would do what Owen did in this video. It's very similar to your situation. I don't care if he's the organizer of the event. He's clearly jealous.

First of all, props to out-competing an investment banker over a decade older than you.

The main thing is you should've maintained your frame instead of letting him brainwash her.

Did she respond to this?

It's usually best to avoid responding directly to the guy (ignore him). She was clearly into you, so you could've gotten her to take care of him for you. A good move would've been to maintain your eyes on hers with a quizzical look, and ask her something like "is this your boyfriend?" or motion your hand as if you're asking "who is this guy?"/"do you know this guy?" Another good option would've been to raise one eyebrow and ask her "...am I?", to which she would definitely say "no" because she's clearing having fun with you and complying to your demands. This would also make her set the frame HERSELF that you're not taking advantage of her, so it would've been harder for the chump to brainwash her. Having the girl handle the heckler will be the most effective way. Furthermore. she's also investing more in you by doing so while you appear effortless.

Since it seemed like the two of you were having fun, it would've been congruent for you to play it off as well, like "oh yeah, I am definitely taking advantage of her!" while chuckling and rolling your eyes. Perhaps you could've also picked her up and waddled off with her as well.

You could also turn to the street or a light pole or the wall or something where there clearly isn't anyone and have a monologue like "I don't know guys, he thinks I might be taking advantage of her. What do you guys think?" then turn back to the guy after a second or so, and be like "I don't know man, it doesn't seem like anyone thinks I'm taking advantage of her" This would work a lot better if there was an actual group to support you, but I think the humor would imply your harmlessness, and the charm and confidence would put her on your side more so than the other guy's logic.

You addressed him directly in a combative way, so I'm sure this fueled him to continue.

He's pretty socially skilled because he starts out with a straight-up "no". This makes his point stronger while making you appear "wrong" in some way. Even if he was jealous inside, he didn't let that show; instead, he made it a moral issue where he's simply the guardian figure who watches out for his people (the girl). Here, he also subtly painted you as a potential threat to her as well.

Chase has an article on this where he suggests, if I remember correctly, that you respond with a flat "no" as well. This will throw him off a bit because guys usually try hard to defend themselves or get combative. The flat "no" also makes him appear possibly "wrong" as well, so now the girl doesn't know who's right or wrong (or she feels like there IS no right or wrong). So then this is where you would follow Smith's suggestion and tell him some shit like "Look, we're two consenting adults who enjoy each other's company. Everything's fine and she's completely safe with me, so you have nothing to worry about. So let's all just have a fun night, yeah?". Unless he's really socially skilled, he'll probably look like a jealous boy if he tries to maintain his frame again. At which point you could prolly just make out with her once more and tear his heart out right in front of his eyes.
