Do YOU Guys Have This Problem?

So I was just reading Hector's post on Reddit, reading through the comments. I'm not AS active in seduction communities as I used to be recently because I've been busy, but seriously - what's with all these rediculous acronyms? The only acronyms I really committed to memory are LR and LMR, BUT:

What the fuck is a: ASD, SMV, AMOG, I mean, just because this stuff is niche, do we have to talk in code as well? Can't you just write out what you're trying to say, honestly, in normal words?

I don't know about anybody else, but I've also been straying away from using seduction "slang" because... I mean it sounds weird. I have a few friends that want to get better with girls and telling them, "Just open the set and if you get blown out just regroup until you number close" (Not that I'd say that, just an example) would be pretty dumb. So I've learned to convert the slang into - rather back into - normal verbage.

Just wondering if anyone else comes into contact with this issue?

I basically never use these terms anywhere on GC or in real life. All of the acronyms are pretty annoying, and, for lack of a better term... "nerdy" in a way. Lol.

That being said, it IS good to get to know them so that you can browse through different PUA articles on different websites and understand what they are attempting to convey. While the acronyms are very annoying (and often unnecessary), I've found it helpful to at least know many of them so that I don't find myself lost in the context of some of these other websites. This also helps you converse with other guys who are using the acronyms as well.

Yeah, jargon can be alienating.

I made it a point to try to never use PUA jargon in articles when I started this site. Also tried to invent as few jargon-y sounding names for stuff myself as I could. Deep diving, chase framing... and that was about it. That was enough.

We always tell new writers for the site "no jargon", and our editors always know not to let too much jargon slip through.

Alek uses ASD and LMR in his posts, but I think that's about it.

You should've seen PUA in the mASF days. Jay (moderator on mASF) actually had to have a plugin on his forum that gave you the definition when you hovered over terms and acronyms. Otherwise it you would've been lost in the woods as a newbie. AFC, BAFC, WBAFC; NC, KC, FC; pivot, wing, AMOG, warpig, PUA, mPUA, gPUA, AI, AR, oneitis, KJ, ASD, mLTR, oLTR, STR, HB, CB, and my personal favorite, pAImAI. I doubt there's a guy on this board who knows all those terms and acronyms (unless Alek or Ric start posting again!).

How is Ricardus doing these days? What's he up to?He is still one of my favorite girl related sources of the web despite having been out of the picture for awhile. Any chance you could convince him to come back for an article or two? I think a lot of the guys would live that, especially since some of his articles are in the How Tos section.

I think it was Franco (possibly?) who stickied a post with a link to a PUA-definition site. When I first joined the boards some people were still using the jargon so I'm familiar with a good deal of it and I remember scrolling through that site for a little while - combine that with a semi-photographic memory and... well... you end up with a lot of useless acronyms memorized.
