It felt like me and this girl were really hitting it off... until another guy showed up. She showed up crying due to some problems with her classes, yet before I could even make a move to talk to her this guy swooped in and started dominating everything. I didn't find any opportunity to join in on the conversation and soon enough he was making her laugh and giving her a hug.
To be honest I don't know whether my chances with her are gone or not, but I did get jealous and walked away. So I probably made a fool of myself and I really just don't know if I can compete with that guy.
That said, I couldn't help but notice she seemed to really warm up to this guy after he was able to make her laugh. Yet making girls - or anyone else, for that matter - laugh is one thing I've always been terrible at. I can make a girl smile and sometimes I can even make them chuckle, but I seem to simply fail at being funny.
So is it necessary for me to be able to make a girl laugh? Any advice is appreciated as well.
