Hey guys, haven’t approached in a few weeks, returning home over summer break will do that to you. Anyways I went to the gym, saw a cute girl(HB7), gym was pretty empty so I decided to make an approach. Gym was also pretty empty, and this was not my usual time, so decided to go for it. Worst case scenario it’s practice.

Pre approach, I saw her glance at me twice, and as I was walking up to her, saw her glance another time.

I went up to her using the shoes line, saying “excuse me, where did you get those shoes?” She said Macys, and I said it looks really nice. She proceeded to say thanks.

The rest of the convo was pretty dry ngl, we exchanged names, I didn’t do the handclasp(my mistake), I asked her if she’s home for summer vacation, to which she responded she’s a college grad.

Asked her what she did, she said she worked at a country club, I proceeded to tease her by saying “wowww bougie”. I then tried to build similarity by saying that our area is boring(it is), but this backfired.

Tried explaining myself by saying I came back from Italy for 4 months, to which she said it made sense because everything in Europe is better.

Seeing that as an opportunity to connect, I asked her where her favorite place in Europe was, to which she responded that she’s never been.

Confused at this point, I asked her how she would know. Tbh I didn’t feel good or increasing energy from this interaction.

Rest of convo was basic, dry with me trying to inject gym humor(didn’t land).

At the end, I just said “nice to meet you” without asking for the date(I literally saw no point, 0 connection or arousal, this convo was dryer than the Sahara desert).

Anyways, any mistakes that I’m not catching? Seemed doomed from the beginning but I’m sure there’s things I could have done better.

People often have opinons about things they don't know, such as Europe being more interesting although they have not gone.
What should I do if a person brings up an opinion that they clearly have no idea about?

Should I tease her on it?

the right date makes getting her back home a piece of cake
