Edit function

I've noticed that the edit function sometimes just doesn't work. It gives an error "Oops! We ran into some problems. Please try again later". On some posts it works, on some it doesn't.

Has anyone figured out a workaround other than deleting and posting again? I've tried with different themes on different browsers to no avail.

The edit and delete buttons don't even show for me!

I started a journal a couple weeks ago but I'm waiting 4+ days for mod approval and I can't edit/delete anything.

Journaling for public consumption has been great for working out my thoughts and inspiring action (had a breakthrough that I haven't posted bc my most recent post is still pending) and it's kinda a bummer this basic stuff doesn't work.

I'm sure there'd be a ton of spam if it weren't for these processes but it's been quite frustrating as a new guy trying to contribute here.

Posting this partly as a test to see if this post is also thrown into the review bin.

@Prime your post needed indeed mod approval. This is due to the filter to tackle spam. we get spammers on the forums daily, and fortunately you do not see it because the filter works. But sadly, it catches fake positives. The filter is particularily strict with new member/members with few posts.

This issue will likely disapear once you reach the next rank (space monkey). You get this rank automatically once you reach 10 posts. Reaching that rank, you will also be allowed to send private messages.

Anyway I took the liberty to approve your post at my discretion. Not really my role as that this is part of the moderators mandate, but I could not see anyting fishy in your thread.

For future reference: whenever you need a mod (or an admin - which is what I am) use the report funftion found at the bottom left of a post. This will notiify a moderator.



The report button looks like this (I have some other functions - priviledge of admin hehe). I also use the default xenforo style - you can cange forum layout on the bottom of the page.

Correct. This is Automatic. The reason is that it screws up the forum ranking and the overall experience for others. Anything that has to be edited after a week has to be done by admin or mod. Just PM them or report. I would up your rank manually so you could PM, but considering your are just 3 posts away...
