Ever have a girl try set you up with other girl

When out at night have you ever had a girl spot you and try to set you up with another girl. I think it can be quite confusing for guys when this happens - because on the one hand, you are aware of how awkward the situation you're about to be put in might be, but on the other hand, you've been walking around for for two hours without any luck and are you really going to turn this offer down because of your ego?

After the last time it happened, I'm thinking 'no', I cannot ever let myself be put in that situation again. This girl came up behind and "Hi there, I just noticed you walking around there, there's a very nice girl over here". I said I'd go over and see. But the situation I was offered was actually probably more difficult to work than any other random approach. Now I'm not sure if her friend had also seen me hopelessly walking around too. Because if she had then I was doomed to fail.

Anyway as I was being brought over to her I realised that I'd seen her earlier and had thought to myself that she's not really attractive. But what do you say when you're being brought over to her? Well I'll tell you what I did, instead of just bolting and thinking that it would look weird, I prolonged the inevitable awkwardness by saying hello to her. The guy there said "do you like him?" Then I didn't really know what to do. I did not like this situation because I felt I had no control.

And what if you are the sort who's willing to be put in such a situation? Wouldn't you would need to know how to gracefully exit if you found you weren't attracted to the girl while being introduced?

Couple times....

In college:
Had a girl watching me dance one night at a club and she came over to set me up with her friend who was on the rebound. Actually she asked me to dance with her and I taught her the steps to the dance. That turned into a 2 month relationship.
Had a SYRD (Screw your roommate dance) where roommates set each other up. Well my roommate failed to get a date for me, as he was an anti social bookworm. One of the girls from a sorority called her "sister" to get me a date for the night. That never really became a relationship or progressed very far physically.

Had a friend, shortly after I'd told her about my divorce, ask if she could set me up with her friend. CORRECTION: Asked me if I was seeing anybody, THEN said "Oh I was thinking of setting you up with Sybil" I wasn't sure if it was to determine if I was open to dating her (my friend)....

Here's a reverse of that scenario...My cousin's friend showed up to a group run. I didn't know her but somewhere along the line my name got mentioned as we were stretching before. Her eyes got wide and she exclaimed "Wait are you Fuck.....THIS?" (My first and Last name) . This elicited some wonder from my friends. She then mentioned that she is good friends with my female second cousins. I introduced her to my friend on the run who proceeded to be awkward but mentioned that the group was invited to his place for drinks after the run. I was trying to put him in position to land this girl, but she demurred. She did come to his place that night but he fucked it up. From all of her actions including bending over in front of me (exposing a lacy thong) , to asking me to walk her to her car, she made herself quite available for me....I did not follow up on it. A year later and she got knocked up and is now a single mother to a child with a heart condition...


So listen, if you are in a club, and a girl wants to introduce you to her friend, don't sweat it...You can play it a few different ways but in your mind you need to have the mind set that "Hey, I'm a hot commodity. I've got women RECRUITING ME for their friends." That is Social proof in spades. Don't be afraid to introduce women to your friends either. Never know when they have a hot friend...
