In this article, Chase describes how beneficial it is to have the girl look at you first, before you turn your head towards her.

1. How does one initiate this? You can't 'make' a girl notice you, can you?

2. In my experience, girls look at me when i'm not looking in their direction (usually at a perpendicular direction). I can see in my peripherals that they're checking me out, but if i turn my head slightly to their direction, they quickly look down. How am i meant to flirt using eye contact if they keep doing this? Especially as Chase encourages you to turn your head slowly.

Today, there was a cute blonde girl checking me out. I was standing almost beside her on the train, noticing her in my peripherals. She noticed me get on the train and she looked at me a few seconds later. I quickly looked at her before she had the chance to look down. We held each other's gaze for about 1 second and then she looked down. As she looked at me first, she kept glancing at me during the rest of the train ride, but i had to be quick when i turn my head. Turning my head slowly just won't work. Girls are too shy usually.

Ryan,

If you're noticing a girl looking at you in her peripherals, that means she's looked at you first. You don't need to make direct eye contact to "confirm" she was looking at you. She noticed you. Walk over and talk to her. It's that simple. I'd focus more on actually approaching girls that are showing interest in you for now.

At the beginning of the article, Chase mentions it's more of an intermediate skill in what he is specifically referring to. I'd recommend coming back to it at a later time. With more experience, you may just have an "aha" moment.

Eye contact can be huge. But for now, just worry about developing the fundamentals (which still means maintaining and using good eye contact), then later worry about refining things.
