I find this to be somewhat true.

1) Traditional Men's Fashion (Plain t-shirt and perfect jeans to match, with extra jacket or accessories to make it modern or fresh)

2) Current Trend Men Followers (Guys who buy whatever is shelves on the market like Zara, Levis and extras once every three months or so)

3) Big Clothes! (Guys who put anything over their body, as long as it is comfortable, and some running shoes)

4) PEACOCKING JEDIS(Guys whom try to wear all their specialize suit, rings, watches, pants all in one seating, even if it doesn't match.)

I find myself to be number 1. What you guys think?

peacocking jedis made me laugh so hard.

i'd say i'm 1-3 depending on the day. i feel the most "sexy" though when i just dress in regular man clothes. simple letterman's jacket styled jacket with a t shirt and jeans. i do like dressing sharp with suits or just looking trendy and stuff, but i don't do that when i have my game face on for a date or something. i feel like it gives off a slight feeling of me trying too hard.

honestly, as long as i just make sure to style my hair right and make sure my skin isn't dry, i look good. doesn't really matter what i wear.

srsly though, knowing how to style my hair i feel like gives me a pretty large aesthetic edge. i donno y chicks dig it so much but they just like hair.

Yea man, i realize we, men find ourselves feel good when we wear simple stuff, even formal shirts and pants that's slim fit to the legs that it is perfectly nice. Budget for clothes is one thing, but yea i find it more relax and simple to be number 1.

I had different hairstyles over the years. It only adds some interest from women, but for me, it is true about scent of sweat, Women look at me like they wanna pounce me, just that they not the kind of women i always want. :(((((!

Some men are blessed to have women dig their hairstyle. I think facial symmetry might play a role, your face and hair is align or i would say, fit in together, although this is relative reasoning.

Hey,
That's really funny but at a high level very true... I think you covered all bases with guys in general... the title of 4 made me laugh.

Personally, I'm a 1 and a half :)

I keep up to date on trends and kinda shop like a woman but I don't buy something just because it's the new trend. I'm more of a "wardrobe staples" type of person.
i.e. If I got t-shirt and jeans I class a "1" in this list being average Joe sporting an ill-fitted if not over sized slogganed t-shirt, a pair of dad jeans and some ratty old air max.
What I go for is a fitted v-neck, low-rise J&J jeans and either dress shoes or some cool *new* trainers... not flashy but new is key, if they are white, they should be white.

I just can't do number 4, it's just too blatant and makes me feel ridiculous.

I myself would be like 1.5 lol I dress like a "Tool" Affliction T shirts, aeropostal, American Eagle, (pretty much any T-shirt that is tight and shows off my muscles), jeans (not skinny), a white belt, a tight neclace with ovular beads, a watch (fossil -silver), running shoes of some kind, and when its cold I wear a Visor Beanie (white)

Zac,
Yes, by "staples" I mean, if you even look at any mens fashion blog they will have several posts about this.

Staples are things that are styling but never go out of fashion. They're not part of the "trend".

Some of those things are:
T-shirts, fitted preferably v neck, multiple colors.
Same for sweaters.
at least 2 pairs of dark jeans, no wash, whatever style suits you.
Black and brown leather shoes.
Trainers, stylish, not nike or sportwear, think retro so they can go with tshirt or shirt.
A taylored looking sportscoat/blazer ($50 H&M, doesn't need to be expensive, its more about fit.)
Plain colored shirts, slim fit, no pockets, no overllapping tapers on back or shoulders. Maybe 2 or 3 of these, more if you wear everyday like work. Its worth spending a "little" extra on these if you can. Again, its more about fit and quality than price... for example, some high end stuff like tommy hilfiger buttom downs actually look very "tatty" to me.

The thing is, with these in place you can mix and match to create almost any look for any situation, business, casual, hanging out or whatever.

From there you can add "current" stuff to create a look but I don't go overboard on this, depending on the current trend it may suit me or not. If it doesn't, its better not to go with it. It makes guys look like more fashion victim than stylish.

Look at any of the photos Chase adds to his blogs. Most of these are stylish men, wearing things which would be stylish in any time... that's what I go for... mainly because you can put it together without a huge budget and it'll last a long time.

I am not too familliar with reading mens fashion blog, always gone with the intuitive feeling. Going by "staples" tend to be my thing, too.

Definitely, Chase blogs has some stylish men, dressing up in the photos. I also notice that if you not particular about your budget, you can be a fashion victim too, and a lot of guys i know also spend too much on clothes, perfume, cologne, just to actually try to improve their chances with women.

Yep, I totally agree.
I don't trawl the fashion blogs either since most of it is crap but googling "staples" for mens fashion brings back some nice posts.

I also agree about budgets and fashion victims... it's easy to spend your budget on one new item for the "in" trend instead of 5 crisp new shirts to go with anything :)

Less is more, mens clothes are easy.

Best advice I ever got about mens clothes... trends go in and out of fashion. But Style is timeless.

Just a list off the top of my head that does not go out of fashion - it's a new goal to be able to wear these properly.

-
Oxford Shirt in white
Grey V Neck jumper
Crew neck black jumper
Multiple V and Crew neck shirts in white, grey or black
A smart shirt in white
Pants in black
Chinos in 'earthly' colours
A navy blue jacket
Straight raw leg denim in selvage
Brogues
Loafers
White leather trainers
Tan desert boots
Chukka boots
Suit
Tailored shorts

The most important thing above even quality is fit.
