Earlier I said I'd try a new approach on meeting groups at night on the socialisng sub-board. It took my interest and wondered if it worked so after looking up a couple of things I headed out to a bar.
On the way down I said hi to about 7 groups/people to get my social momentum up and some said hi some didn't but I was more focused on making sure I said hi to the next people that were walking my way. Had some up-beat music on too, always helps having one headphone in... keeps me happy and holds me between talking. I get close to the bar, wrap up my headphones and enter. Grab a drink and say hi to the waitress who served me... looks down, always a good sign. I look around a brief moment and wonder around. I start opening groups with my newly founded opener and everything goes well. I feel at ease and I make some small talk with peeps and move on just focusing on enjoying myself and not letting my social momentum drop.
I eventually open a small group of 2 guys and a girl. The girl is instantly attracted to me and the guys take a liking as well. One of the guys compliments my jacket and I talk and exchange snippets of what we do. The girl, we'll call Jasmine, starts to get really curious about me so we talk a little and I guess she tests me, I can't be sure because I didn't really notice it, I only assume so cause she was a little rude saying that I was a bit weird and she quickly retracted her statement.
At this point she bombards me with questions about myself. I do my best to remain intriguing but I give in to a couple of questions. I could have qualified her at this point, at least a little more if I had done by accident but she was pretty hooked. She soon points out my hickey on my neck. Pre-selection helps as well. They all laugh and then she wants everyone to play a game where we have to sort out a truth from two lies. I do alright and she makes a quick comment to me about her drink around here, maybe a little before. I assume that she's offering me on so I flirtingly play along. She declines at first and then brings the offer back on the table moments later. Anyway, so after we finish our little truth game one of the guys offers to buy me a drink... apparently everyone wants me tonight. As he goes and gets my drink (he wants the girl who is flirting with obviously) and tries to "intimidate" me by placing his arm around my shoulder and saying things like anything can happen... bit weird.
As he goes off the girl and I start connecting on a deeper level. I find out she did her dissertation on french people who live in war towns from WWI and WWII. I sprinkle in some light flirting and touch and she brings up sex and something to do with sleeping around. I assume this is her testing how I will react to promiscuity, I pass her test. My drink arrives and the other guy interested in Jasmine tries and joins in our conversation, she breaks circle, but he brings the vibe down so her attention is back on me.
I lead the small group back to the larger group to try my hand at meeting a pretty large group maybe 12-15 individuals. I am welcomed pretty well but am not assertive enough to get in properly enough. I started worrying about how I was coming off, shaking my social momentum a little.
After that I get Jasmine's number and leave the group to try other bars and try group approaching. Got a little scared with meeting some girls though but after any initial fear I was quick to hook girls. All the time I was anywhere in a place I had girls checking me out, all the time. Pretty sweet.
So yeah, I'm pleased with how tonight went. Take a look at the URL floating above, it's a pretty good opener to try.
