Hey guys, I'm gonna try to keep it as short as possible, so here we go.
Recently I've met a couple of guys in my country who read GC and are into pickup and so on, and with one of them out of the country I've been spending some time with the other, going out to pubs, to approach chicks and so on, and until now we weren't finding many single girls to approach.
So tonight we went to a pub where my friend's friends work and we sat at the bar. I was having a beer when a group of 3 girls enter the place and sit at the only available place, right next to me. As soon as they sat down they ordered beer, so I lean close to the girls sitting next to me:
Then I introduced myself to her and her friends. To be honest I preferred the girl who was sitting the furthest from me but the close one was cute so I decided to stick with her.
From the way they were talking I knew they were a bunch of frenchies (we have a lot of frenchies in lebanon), and I happen to go to only french university in the country so I made a guess
She tells me that her dad is a lawyer and I try to deep dive a bit more, ask her about her passions and so on, but the problem was that the conversation did not hook; she was talking to her friends most of the time and every once in a while I would get her attention back and talk some more, during which she seemed to be giving me her focus but as soon as the conversation slows down she would turn to her friends.
Afterwards my friend and I moved to a table for a few minutes then we decided to leave so I went to say bye
I decided not to go for the number at the end because the conversation didn't go very well, and there is actually a good chance that I might run into her another time but the important thing for me was that I took the courage and did the approach, and this is something I've been struggling with for as long as I can remember. I also realized that I'm getting rusty, and my conversation skills could use more practice.
I would love to get your feedback on this, opinions, suggestions, anything that comes to mind

Frost: good choice
Chick: (confused look)
Frost: I hear today is international beer day
Chick: oh hahaha

Frost: let me guess, you go to [the french university]
Chick: (laughs) yeah I go there, what about you?
Frost: me too, although I'm in the campus that's in the middle of nowhere
...
Frost: so what are you studying?
Chick: law, 1st year
Frost: oh so I should watch my step or you're gonna sue me if I mess up?
Chick: (laughs)

Frost: hey we're leaving. Do you usually come here?
Chick: no it's actually the first time
Frost: well anyway see you around
Chick: okay it was nice to meet you!
