Mixed signals are a pain, eh? So here's the story:

I met this girl on one of my group trips to South America (she was part of my group) and so, I had been getting mixed feelings along the trip (hands holding, deep eye contact, getting too close, age teasing because I was younger, etc.) so I decided to give it a shot. Why not, you know? The weird part about this is that she kept calling me "amigo" as spanish is our native language so I kinda got the hint that I might be in the zone yet she kept acting flirty.. Once back in the States we had a little reunion to talk about the trip and stuff and so she insisted over and over for me to join her and her friends which they usually gather up every tuesday and do different activities. I surrendered and went to meet with her group 2 times after that then made myself missing for about a month due to being busy. I met up with her friends last week and she was just glowing to see me! I was feeling kind of odd about it haha. And so I had to rush out, didn't have a chance to catch up and she said to text her. So I texted her a few hours later and just sort of quick updated on what we were up to then I asked her out to do something that weekend and which she suggested to go the following weekend as she was going to be busy. I didn't get turned down for that which I think was good, but I'm kind of iffy about the whole friend thing. I'll just have to see where it leads.

What are some good tips for a first date? I'm a senior in high school and she's a freshman in college. I think a formal date would be kind of odd. What do you all suggest? also, what kind of hints could I look out for during the date to somewhat point out I'm in the right direction?

Thanks!
