Man, this one has really got me shaken up.
Last night, I was out at block party where I met this cute woman... Turns out she's from France and is just in the country for a year and a half or so. She's an industrial engineer, great, but her English isn't perfect.
I meet her indoors, almost immediately move her outside; we got food from a food truck and sat down at picnic table (I sat next to her).
She seems very interested, makes eye contact, asks me questions. I thought maybe she was getting a little impatient, so I scooted close to her and looked for a chance to kiss her, but there was no opening, what with eating and all. After we finished eating, she asked me, "Do you want to go?"
"Sure," I replied. We started walking back towards the building, and after a few steps I went to pull her to the side and kiss her.
As soon as my hand touches her shoulder, she looks back, freaks out, and starts to run away. Like, literally runs away from me -- I thought she was gonna call the cops. After a few steps she stopped and looked back at me, horrified. I, also horrified, and completely flustered at this point, am just apologizing profusely, genuinely in fear of legal repercussions. I was so shaken up at this point, all my tact went out the windows. I straight up asked her, "What should I have done?"
"Nothing!" Was her reply. I apologized again and promised that I would never bother her again, and immediately left and went home.
Man. I am so shaken up even now. It was horrible.
