Hello all,
Primer:
I made this thread due to a number of comments in Marty's post about getting college girls relating to fraternities. I read through the comments, and I feel that some people believe that fraternity guys just "magically" get girls. It's only a illusion a well designed illusion. As a fellow fraternity member I want to help clear up the picture and misconceptions. Now this isn't to bash non fraternity students or encourage people to join a fraternity, I'm explaining why it looks like fraternity members appear to get girls.
Social Circle on Crack: Girls love their friends!
Let me explain, fraternities are one giant social circle. Now a good number of girls and guys are in fraternities and they constantly team up for philanthropy events, parties, volunteer work, etc . . . Now when you run into the same faces at the same events overtime you create a bond or a friendship. You're organizations may start doing more and more activities together. Then you guys become protective of each other. In a sense you become like family. Now sorority girls have a great amount of respect for guys in fraternities because it shows at some campuses that they can withstand immense hardship. On the other end especially at my college it shows that you were part of the selected few. Since you're in a girls social circle you're constantly around good looking women. Now just cause you're around these women doesn't mean you're sleeping with them.
It matters what fraternity you're in!: IS your fraternity the player club or math club
Inner Fraternity: Example how I view my own chapter and how people view it
This party especially true what looking at your fraternity as a whole. My (home) fraternity at my particular campus is one of the chillest, laid back, and peaceful fraternities on campus. My fraternity chapter in my hometown is a math club and my fraternity chapter 40 minutes down the rode is the only fraternity on their campus. Now this is important because even though a particular fraternity is popular at one campus, it may not be popular at another campus. It's all about perception.
Outer Fraternity: Fraternity vs Fraternity
Now this is where it gets real. Fraternities compete against each other for sorority girls. Now if your thinking of pledging it would be smart to pick the fraternity that gets the most girls right? Well it's not that simple because of drama and new pledge classes it always fluctuates. At my school there's not really a fraternity that has a monopoly on all the sororities. Because girls are competition with each other every one is fighting to become each other's number one.
Status that is Letters: Stand alone
This part is about the guys like myself who are in fraternities that get girls with or without their letters.
The pros of letters:
You stand out
You have instant social circle
Have unique letters!
The thing about it is they're are plenty of guys who are douches fraternity or non fraternity. To get girls you have to be uniquely different and make a girl feel special. Don't go around bashing other people or call people who didn't join fraternities "whimps, losers, pussies etc . . . " You just make yourself look stupid and bring shame on the rest of us. Have respect for yourself and don't be a stereotype.
You can walk up to any sorority girl or fraternity guy and talk to them, even if they're not in your fraternity.

Hey *Insert fraternity* how you guys been?
Cons of letters:
If your fraternity did something stupid, you did something stupid
If sororities hates your fraternity, they hate you
It's basically guilty or awesome by association, and this makes it harder to set yourself apart from a bad reputation.
I joined a fraternity recently in my junior year just to add to my college experience. I also don't knock something before I try it. Now remember for those that don't know I stumbled unto pick up in my junior year of high school, four years later in my junior year of college I have experience. I worked hard in girl for a long time and just wanted to try something new. Too many guys rely on fraternities to magically get girls, you need to be able to talk to girls first. You just don't put on a hoodie and become a sex sensation. You have to create that mysterious vibe in woman. In reality a lot of older guys in fraternities don't wear their letters as often because girls already know them.
I switch it up, just to keep my mysterious vibe going. In all honesty when you have confidence you can just walk up to girls and just tell them your fraternity. If you guys are known well enough, they'll know who you are. I have the tools I know the trades, I got a warehouse full of techniques that I could take out on a spin any given day. However, the worst thing I could do is go shot gun approach a whole bunch of sorority girls and ruin my fraternity's reputation.
Actually getting girls: Tool was right when he said you need fundamentals first then focus on status!
Plenty of guys in my fraternity and other fraternities don't know how to seduce girls. So they wouldn't be able to bed girls quickly. Also, many fraternity guys focus on either private parties to get girls. Because talking to girls while drunk is just easy because you could care less what people think. When you're drunk and a girls drunk bad decisions may or may not happen. Now take away the keg parties and alcohol a lot more guys come off empty handed.
Now you can laid at a drunk college fraternity party easy, if you have a good relationship with your brothers. My brothers don't cock block me and vice versa. Now keep in mind to actually communicate whatever your girl you're going after to lessen confusion. It just makes life easier at the end of the night for everyone. Now if a girl isn't into you but is into your bro, be a bro and let him have her. The more your fraternity sleeps with sorority girls, the more they'll come around you guys.
Regular Students: Work that vibe
Getting regular girls as a fraternity guy is easier than getting a sorority girl. The reason being is she doesn't really have anything to go off of. She more or less wants to find out if the rumors are true. Are you guys sex addicts? Do you fuck any girl you want? Will you lover her? Break her heart? Are you the one guy who's different? That's the feeling I leave girls with every time I talk to them. They see you all the time with so many girls, she wants to know if she means anything to you. Note it is also important to have something other than your fraternity to talk about. If you have no substance, she won't stick around. I'm part of a lot of different things and I also got a few tricks off my sleeves.
Conclusion: A fraternity adds to your status but you still need fundamentals to pull off getting girls. A lot of guys use it like a crutch and they limit themselves to strictly sorority girls. Many guys look to sorority girls to hook up with and non sorority girls to date. Even though I'm in a fraternity I very rarely go after a particular type of girl. I go for a girl that I like and I can vibe with. There's no need to over think the scenario. If you're not a fraternity guy you can still approach a sorority girl, just ask her about her organization and why she joined one. Keep in mind too that everyone's fraternity experience is uniquely different. I can only speak for my campus and the campuses that I have personally traveled too. Fraternities only become a crutch when you're relentlessly relying on them to get laid. Remember you have to take matters into your own hands to get laid!
