Two weeks ago I met a girl at the gym who texted me this week and basically asked when she could take me to dinner and drinks. I've been trying to find a moment when I could talk to her in person and ask her out but every time she's been at the gym, I've been busy with work (I work full time at that gym). Anyways, she beat me to the punch and in the text she said she wanted to plan out a night for me and show me a good time since I just turned 21. I told her that would be awesome then she called me right afterwards. On a side note, she definitely had a few drinks that night and wasn't really making sense on the phone. lol On the phone she asked me if I could go out with her to drinks on Friday and I had to tell her unfortunately that I couldn't because I already had plans and was going to be out of town. She seemed pretty bummed about that and I'm sure the alcohol amplified that feeling. I told her I'd love to another day and that cheered her up a bit; didn't want her to go into auto-rejection.
The date is pretty much a done deal and both of our schedules are more free this week.
The situation I'm in now is whether or not to let her plan the date or for me to do it.
Part of me thinks it's an awesome sign that she's chasing by her telling me she wants to take me out and I should reward that by letting her plan the date.
Another part of me feels like I'm giving up my power as a man by giving her the leadership role and letting her plan the date.
She was in Vegas this past weekend and I was in Tahoe so I'm going to see her tomorrow at the gym most likely. I need to strike while the iron is hot. My instinct is telling me I need to plan the date to keep my leadership role as a man, but I also feel like if she's the type of girl who likes to take charge then I may end up a very happy man that night AND I'll be following the law of least effort.
Last note, in the text she sent me she told me to take nice clothes to work and that she'd pick me up, we'd go to dinner and drinks then to the house she's watching afterwards. She said she wants to "show me a good time." Don't know if that was the alcohol talking but sounds like she's thinking of ways for us to be alone together.
Any opinions or advice would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!
