Hello,
So I started talking to this girl about two weeks ago. We go to the same rock climbing gym.
The conversation between us started when she asked me if I was the one who had helped her out with one of the routes she had been working out. I tried teasing her about this:
her : "Are you the one who helped me with a route?"
me : "When was this?"
her : "Monday"
me : "I don't think so... wait what route was this?"
her : "The red one."
me : "The one on the wall in the far right?"
her : "No the one on the back wall."
me : "Oh no... it was me." (I said this with a big smile, and she seemed to have found the interaction funny as well)
I then continued about my business. The next time I saw her I asked her how she was progressing with the route she was working on and asked her her name. Every time she has seen me, she smiles and waves at me even if she is quite far away but never actually comes up to talk to me, I have to initiate that. Today she started opening up a bit more to me, she talked about what she was studying. I was hoping to ask her out for a drink but got interrupted by her climbing partner (a guy) who wanted to resume their climbing.
So far we've interacted about 20 minutes with one another. I want to ask her out, but find it awkward because it's hard to get her alone long enough to build a good conversation and invite her out in the environment we're in. I'm also concerned that she is just being friendly (as she isn't really doing any chasing besides waving at me from a distance, it feels like I'm chasing by always having to initiate) and that I'm not expressing my romantic/sexual interest enough.
I'm wondering if you guys have any suggestions or comments about what you think is happening.
Thanks!
