Girl says she likes someone else

So my friend gave the number of this girl I'm interested in, without the girls knowledge of course.

So since I'm on good terms with the girl, I decided to have some with asking her out. I sent a text saying "guess who!" And she responded "who??" And my response was herself from the future. So I told her that in the future the world will be destroyed, unless of course she goes out on a date with Chris(myself).

It was fun and light hearted, and she laughed I'm sure.

After a few exchanges she said

Her: "what happens if I say no?"
Me: "Then world will end! And we can't have that now can we? ;)"
Her: haha bummer, cause I already like someone else."
Me: "xxxx, I suggest you take this under heavy consideration! When the world ends you'll think back "dang it, I shoulda gone out with Chris!"
Her: Haha I'm pretty satisfied with the guy I like though."
Me: But he doesn't save the world, only I- I mean Chris does! Choose wisely!"
Her: "I choose him. Sorry!"
Me: "ahhh xxxx you've sent the world into chaos! I hope you enjoy your time with him till doomsday ;)"
Her: "oh I will. I will ;)"

And I didn't respond after that.

Now I'd think the next best move would to move on to other girls, and maybe once she sees me with them she'll change her mind, and if not no biggie, as I have other girls. But do y'all think I should persist a little more? I'd personally think not.

Thoughts?

the right date makes getting her back home a piece of cake

Yeah, you've lost this one. Your mistake was making her chose between the two of you.

I agree with this, sorry. Though you could try and be persistent I doubt you'd get anywhere.

Yup that's what I figured. Oh well it's no biggie.

What should I have said instead of making her choose?

IF a girl messages,

"What if i say no?"
"Maybe"
"Let's see"

She's brushing you off without trying to be rude. It's better to just walk out. Although i can tell you i have success by being continuously persistent, by messaging a girl sporadically over a period of time. I suggest you don't, it takes effort, and you already ask her to choose either you or him. That is a strong statement, and will just make you look undesirable over the long term if you chase her again.

Yeah, when I opened that message I knew it was over! Haha, but I definitely won't be chasing her.

Thanks for the input guys! :)

Your messages are well. You can use this, until before the choosing part.

Hey CC,

This actually just sounds like a nice and playful brush-off. Your playful texting and persistence actually was pretty good, but it seems like she wasn't even giving you a chance. She's probably telling the truth about liking someone else, and she's doing you a favor by not leading you on.

Onward and upward. ;)

Thanks Franco!

Yeah I noticed that she wasn't giving me a chance, as I don't most girls would've turned that down, and if they did they'd think about it.

Her friend texted me the next day calling me an idiot for asking her out, because the friend did tell me she might be interested in someone else. But oh well! I saw an opportunity and went for it. Can't blame a guy for trying. ;)

In the end I'm still glad I asked! No regrets here!
