Girls trying to get compliance: What to do?

Hey Guys! When girls try to "boss" you around or basciccly try to get compliance out of you, what does this mean? For example if your around a girl and she, in a flirty way not bitchy, tells you (not asks) to come open a door for her, or drive her places. Pretty much anything that you would only do for a girlfriend, but you are not in a relationship, how do you handle this? I've personally just resorted to simply brushing off these attempts to command me as silly and cute requests. Or ill suggest they do something for me first, as to not completely give in to their every will.
Are these just the challenges that women throw out to test men? And if so am I handling them correctly?
