I'm fairly new to pickup, but I've run into a few instances where it seems as if women are trying to run 'game' of some sort. This includes stuff like delayed responses to messages, delivering negs, not reciprocating emoticons via text or online but being enthusiastic and open to advances in-person, claiming to be busy most nights before settling on a date, using push-pull tactics, etc.

I'm basically wondering how to distinguish deliberate tactics from lack of interest and how to respond to deliberate tactics. Obviously some degree of calibration is necessary, but are there any general rules of thumb?

I think Chase's rule of thumb gets around this issue:

If you don't have sex with a girl on the first 3 dates, forget it.

As in addendum to this rule, if no sex, I'd say at least heavily making out and possibly sexual acts (e.g., fingering her while she gives you a handjob).

If you're not kissing heavily (no pecks on the cheek here) by date 3, end it. You can keep going on more dates if you want to practice game, but DATE other women so you don't get attached. Only use it as a learning exercise. You basically want to game her game.

If you feel bad about this, there's a great article by Chase on this, but can't remember now. Basically, if you look at the world around you, when women are in power in relationships, most of the time the WOMEN aren't even happy. Despite what women may say, they love the MAN as the leader. Leader is the key word, not "overbearing sexist master." They want to look up to the guy and feel good about picking him as her lover.

Edit: This is so obvious I didn't even write it. But if you're not even able to get 3 dates within a month, this is an obvious red flag (e.g., "no, I can't." "sorry, I can't make it tonight. maybe next week?" "ah, something came up again.").
