I've noticed over the months that a good amount of the women I meet and get to follow me tend to walk a good 3-4 steps ahead of my pace.
In the last instance, I was searching for a community service gig at the University's club meeting hall. The girl in question was neutral on opening, but after seeing some social proof and a devil-may-care attitude about how I went about finding my CS she lit up and waved me over to tell me about an event the next day. Not only did her eyes get really wet, but she gave me a very submissive downwards glance after I thanked her and left.
She was working at the event too, and acted very coy the whole time through. I knew it was just a facade and that with the right approach I could open her up, so I figured that I would avoid over-investing and play coy myself until I get a better opportunity. So around dinner time, we both had no more jobs to do, so I walked up to her and immediately invited her to come grab a bite upstairs. Like I anticipated, her eyes lit up again and she gave me a quick "Sure" almost before I finished my sentence.
But here's where it got weird and I dropped the ball:
When we got upstairs, she kept walking ahead of me. I playfully pointed out that she's quite a fast walker, but she smiled and kept going. Next time I'm just going to command her to slow down and relax, but why do girls do this and how do I avoid this in the future?
We ended up getting to the mini-cafateria which was full of faculty, so she felt it was way too awkward and left. I persisted very weakly, almost thinking that at this point it would be better to play it off as I'm independent of the outcome and don't care too much. I had to stay there for my hours anyway, so I didn't want to look like I'm chasing. Her behavior in general was rather strange, it reminded me of other girls in the past who had boyfriends before they met me.
On a side note, these fast walkers tend to all be tall girls. I've found that they absolutely love playful compliments about their long legs, so could this just be another great opportunity for a genuine compliment (given that I tend to open indirect with strong sexual undertones) or would it work against me by reinforcing the fast walking? I've been spending a lot of time pondering attainability as that seems to be my #1 problem right now, right along with missing escalation windows, which I tend to open way ahead of when I'm actually able to capitalize on them, and almost invariably lead to auto-rejection. Something that happened again with a different girl at that same event after this one left. Hell, she may have been on the line the whole time.
Any thoughts on getting girls to follow your pace? Or on how to convert something like this to a FR, everybody seems to insist on writing those so maybe it'd be good to start.
Thanks for any ideas,
TR
